Does the playmaker have to be used for speakers in the same room as it? I was thinking of ditching AE and getting playmaker to control beosound 8 in living room and say a beolab 3500 in the bedroom? Is this possible?

Thanks

Beosound 8, Beotime, Beocom 4, Beo 5, Lutron Rania, MacBook 15" (Mid 2015), iPad Pro, iPhone 6S, B&O Play H3, Beolit 12, Form 2, A8 Headphones, B&O Play A1, B&O Essence

This may be possible Chris - you would need to connect a playmaker into your main audio aux input so that you can play it to your 3500 via A.Aux. you would then need to also connect it to your BS8's audio input. Having two playmakers - one for each device - would give multisource as well as multiroom functionality, though this may not be what you want. B&O do a cable that connects from the RJ45 powerlink outputs of the playmaker and gives phono connections on the other end so you can connect to BS8 and A.Aux, you could use a third party audio switch to then split this out to your two devices. The only thing i am unsure of is if the bS8 would automatically start playing when the playmaker outputs sound, which wouldn't be what you want.

You can have both something plugged into the power link and something in to the RCAs

But both speakers need to plug in

I think the RCAs into the bs8 and the plink into the 3500

Hi,

can I use a Playmaker in the following configuration?

Beolab -> Playmaker -> Beosound.

My intention: If my wife wants to use Airplay functionality on her computer the Playmaker switches on the Beolabs while the Beosound stays off. When I want to listen to all the sources of the Beosound, I active the Beosound and route the audiosignal to the playmaker and to the speakers.

I think that you can connect the Playmaker to the Beomaster 5 and use the AUX on the Beosound5 when you want to stream music.

No, that's not what I want.

I have a Masterlink-Setup but I want to integrate Airplay-functionality for my wife, so that she can listen to the music on her computer via the Beolabs in Room X.

Therefore I thougth that it would be the easiest solution to connect the Playmaker between the Beolabs in Room X and the Beosound in that room.

Another solution would be to simply connect the Playmaker to AUX on the Beosound so that she can stream the music in every masterlinked room.

Yes this would work! Connect the aux output of the BeoSound to the aux input of the Playmaker. Note that the Playmaker will always need to be on, and will be the device operating the volume.

This is how I had mine set up:

- beosound encore has one power link out, so that was fed from power link to RCA into the playmaker

- on the playmaker I had one each power link going to each speaker

I could use the the encore or I can use my iPhone and its the best of both worlds.

Thanks for your replies.

Do I need to change option programming on a Beosound while using the Playmaker? What happens when I change sources on the Beosound via remote or simply adjust volume via remote? What happens on the system?
