I tried all sw updates.

funny thing is,that in all sw updates the bug _base lost connection_ is still coming back!

I've been on software version 2.4 for a while now and I still have this problem once every week or two (and I'm never more than 20 feet from the base).  On the phone you loose the connection, but the connection remains for the person you are on the phone with and they experience a very loud annoying static sound.  I told my dealer and he sort of just shrugged his shoulders. Whistle Its a shame really as I love this phone when it works.  For me, the problem is bad enough that I think twice when making an important or long call (i.e., a call with customer service, etc.); for those calls I use my cell phone (my iPhone, not my serene (great phone but it should never have been sold in the states...its not compatible with the frequency bands used here)).

Software 2.4 for me two, lost connections for me two and sometimes the phone makes an alarm noise before answering and restart, call lost !

My beocom 6000 from 1998 is still working strong.

Nobody whants to use the beocom 5 at home and fight for the 6000. Is that a sign ?

What a pity !

I really like the look and feel of the BeoCom 5

I was ready to buy a desk phone for my new flat, in fact, my first B&O phone.

Should i buy the BeoCom 6000 instead ?

Maybe you should check the S/W version on the Base, instead of the Handset?

My handset is on 2.30, while my base S/W is on 2.10... Don't know if that helps...

Beovision 11-55, BeoPlay V1 40, Beosound 9000, Beolab 8000's and 3 Beocom 5's... Smile
