Hi!I have already asked, but I ask again before hurry up to the service. May be somebody knows any solution...
My BeoSound 3200 was switched off for 2-3 months and now it doesn't work partially:1) It doesn't react for any keys of BS3200 front panel except the "LOAD" button.2) It doesn't react for any keys of Beo 4 or Beo 1000.3) It works perfectly (exclude keys of BS3200 front panel) in slave mode (connecting with BeoVision 9000 or BeoPort) but only for 1-2 min, then it turns off automatically (suppose the PIN-code protection force).Previously its red LED had blinked after the power disconnection for more than 10 mins and then it asked PIN-code after turning on. Its red LED only illuminates now and I can’t enter my own PIN-code or reset it because BS3200 doesn’t offer me to enter PIN-code in the same way as before.Testmode showed:BS3200 can't default its settings:TM31: "TM ERROR"TM37: "TM ERROR"TM28: "MEM +++", in other words: ROM - OK RAM - OK EEPROM - OKBut BS3200 have a lot of the following errors:TM27: "1 IOP 19" - error in the I/O microprocessor: TP module HW error APOS.Do you know what does it mean? What's wrong with my BS3200? Maybe EEPROM or/and microprocessor needs to order and replace? Please kindly help me!Thanks in advance!
(the first thread: http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/43161.aspx)
There is a little cap or resistor (i'm not technical) on a PCB at the rear of the unit that could possibly be the culprit. I read about this fault on an Ouverture on the old now archived forum that had the problem where the buttons on the front apart from LOAD didn't work. Unfortunately right now you can't search for the thread but hopefully soon.
Having said that, it could still be the EPROM as previously suggested.
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.
Well, in this case:
1. Why it can't operate by remote?
2. Why keys work perfectly in Testmode?
I think TM27 gives a clue to the problem because this test effectively checks that all the error checking works correctly and it apparently does not.
In my view the problem is most likely to be the microprocessor, whilst it could be the EEPROM, it is less likely in my view.
Either way, you are either going to get a repair centre to fix it or purchase a Micro processor and fit it yourself if you feel able and willing to do that.
Regards Keith....
Thank You, Keith. I waited Your answer and I'm going to the local service now.
Dear Keith, I followed Your (and others) recommendation and brought my BS3200 to the authorized service. After a week B&O serviceman confirmed that Micro is broken 100%. Original EEPROM is OK. The workshop repair cost is 50540RUR (~1100GBP, ~9800DKK) among them cost of Micro is 43540RUR (~950GBP, ~8450DKK). As the saying is from Russia with love... Can I replace the Micro from the another broken BS3200 where Micro is OK?
P.S.: You wrote: "... purchase a Micro processor and fit it yourself if you feel able and willing to do that". I have a technical background (PhD in Technical Sciences) but where can You recommend me to buy this specific item?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Alex, have you thought about just buying another fully working used 3200 and then just sell the faulty one as spares.
Jonnie
Dear Jonnie,I will try this way as well.
