I hope all of our members in the Sandy path came away without damages and that they and their families are safe. Please tell us as soon as possible.

Ok from Massachusetts. I'm inland, so we just had rain, wind, and localized street flooding.

Thanks for asking.  I'm in Massachusetts.  I lost a favorite large old tree, and the storm was bad enough here that I worried for my house, particularly the roof.  Some serious winds!  Power out for 5 hours Monday night – not bad.

I have a son living in Princeton, NJ and working at the university there.  No major house damage.  Still without electricity – they expect it back early next week.  The university remains closed.  Lack of heat a minor issue, and getting around is quite difficult.  It's a mess.

I haven't yet gotten details on a niece in Baltimore, or anything about family property in West Virginia.  I'm hoping that no news is good news.

Thanks for listening.

I'm in NYC.  All is well for me fortunately but I can't really say the same for the rest of the city.  It's really a mess here.

Hey Leslie,

Electricity was restored to my section of downtown Manhattan earlier today after almost 5 days.  People in the blackout areas of the outer boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island) will have have a much longer wait - up to 10 days.  But it's a small sacrifice considering all of those who lost their homes - or their lives (42 perished in NYC at last count).  Sandy is the worst storm to hit New York City in modern history but we'll get through it, as we always do.
