I am new here and not particularly technically up to speed, so please forgive me.
So far i had a Beosound 3000 linked with my PC (working on Windows Vista/XP) by BeolinkPC2, working as Beoport. All was fine. Unfurtunately broke my Computer down and musted being exchanged. My new Computer is now working on Windows7. As i now tried to reinstal my former installation was it not working anymore. I loaded the actual Version of BeoPort, which should work on Windows7, down. The installation in the beginning is runing quiet fine, also the USB is detected in installed. But than apears the problem. The configuration settings are not installed. On the screen is stated 'BeoPort Configuration initalizing.... Please wait! I waited long time and at least the computer was going in the energysaver modus but nothing happend. Under this smal window is an other window - called 'Config settings' and it is stated 'Ja' 'Nein'. While clicking on one of them appears an error message - called 'Access violation at address 0421D5E5 in module 'BEOIPCCONFIG.EXE'. Read of address 000000'.So far is the BeoPort running and also enabeling me to listen to N.Radio and N.Music as well, but the sound is verry poor, without any bass and loudness. Actual a quality unknown by my B&O products before.
I have already uninstalled and installed the BeoPort software twice, even without antivirus. But unfortunately nothing changed.
Can anyone help me?
The most common mistake during installation of BeoPort SW is an USB cable already connected to BeoPort a the time installation is started.
- Disconnect the USB to BeoPort / PC2- Start installation again- Wait till programm tells you to connect the USB-cable.
Thanks for your reply.
Anyway, i have several times uninstalled and installed BeoPort SW. Even with disconnected USB to BeoPort / PC2.
As prescribed earlier installation is nearly completed, but at the last step in the configuration matters it is failing. There uprising an "Access violation at address 0421D5E5 in module 'BEOIPCCONFIG.EXE'. Read of address 00000000". I üresume that must be an problem by windows 7.
any other suggestions?
I' am nearly frustrated!
I don't know if this will work as I don't have Windows 7, but are you able to install the Beoport software as Administrator and/or Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode?
In Vista, you find the install program, right click with the mouse, and you will see in the list "properties", click and you will see "compatibility" you can see various choices. My first choice would be to check "Run as administrator" and then try install. If it fails, go back to this menu, choose "Run as administrator" AND "Windows XP SP2" compatibility. Of course I cannot say if Windows 7 is the same.
I had a lot of trouble getting N.MUSIC to work on my PC (Vista) but if I installed Beoplayer using the above suggestion, it seems to work perfectly.
My Beolink PC2 which I got last week, would not install properly and the above worked on it too. Just be sure not to connect the USB until the software says you must.
