Hi all

Does any one of you know if there exists an HDMI switch that works with BV7-40 MKII?

I have 4 HDMI devices that I want to attach to my TV but the BV7-40 MKII does not have a HDMI port but a DVI

Does anyone have experience with this? please

Thanks

Klaus

Hi HDMI switching is straightforward so long as the output is terminated in DVI, however the audio becomes a little more complicated with multi-way scart/phono switches.

Yes! The Gefen TV switch works perfectly, but ...

the B&O-Tech had to

-  change TV software chips to 7.94 (or 30.08 if DVB HD-module is built in)
-  change chip for the Dolby Module (AC3 DTS) to version 3.01
-  update the rest of the software to latest version using the update tool
-  and finally - very important - make a "reset to factory default" via the
   service menu ...

The Gefen TV will appear in the source selection.

The Gefen TV switch and 3 additional HDMI sources can be controlled via PUC.
AC3 Version 3.01 supports PCM needed by Apple-TV.
Works via the SPDIF input using an optical Toslink to SPDIF converter.
The fourth HDMI without PUC control is used for the PC which does not  need PUC control.

Do you have some details for the Gefen TV switch like model number/version?

Do you have picture of your setup?

If used as a HDMI expander on a TV with HDMI-input(s) sound will be distibuted via HDMI.

In the case of the BV 7-40mk 2/3, offering just a single DVI-IN, the sound has to be distributed separately
via one of the four SPDIF (Cinch/RCA/Phono) digital inputs.

If you want to connect a source with an optical (TOSLINK) out, eg an ATV-2 or 3,  you'll need some kind
of digital "translator"  from "optical" to "electrical"

Alternatively, using SCART <> 3xRCA adaptors for cameras,  you can also connect analogue (line level) signals.

Hi yes thanks for the reply I am currently sending my sound via scart and my picture via hdmi.

Are you saying to wire all three sources(for example) into the one scart connection using a scart plug with the red yellow and white phono sockets on it.

And using another scart socket plug on each source (blueray, sky tv etc). Then use phono leads and some sort of splitter to wire all three into the one scart on the tv?

Thank you in advance and I hope that makes sense

NO

-  Each source has to be assigned in the setup / source menu to a different AV-IN of your TV.

-  The sound of each source has to be  connected to a separate AV-IN / SPDIF-IN of your TV.

- Sound is transmitted either digitally via SPDIF or analogue via white and red socket of a
  SCART<>PHONO (camera) INPUT adaptor.

- The yellow socket is not used, it's for the "low definition" video signal
