Hi all,

I found myself a Beogram 1700 at a garage sale and I'm loving it. I have one weird issue - when I push the 33 button, the player will often start at 45. If I pause it, then push the 33 again, it always will play at 33 upon restart. Other forum discussions have led me to believe that this could be an old belt causing the phonograph to "misread" the speed of the vinyl. But before I seek out a belt replacement (anyone have any hints on how to swap out the belt?) I thought I'd post the question here first.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Gabe

Belt problem indeed.
A slipping belt allows the motor to accellerate too fast and the electronics will lock it to the double speed.

Lift off the platter, take off the belt, put on a new.

I can supply the correct belt. Email me.
