I have news for you! I just did a listening test comparing an Ido DAC from Nuforce connected to my iphone and a Bladelius USB DAC connected to my Macbook using both an over 10 yr old pair of Beolab6000 that I have laying around the house and a pair of Beolab 3s )using the same file type of course) ; turns out B&O speakers are just as picky with the sources, cables etc..... like any other well designed active loudspeakers out there. In the this particular test the Bladelius USB DAC triumphs the Nuforce I-connected alternative in every parameter. Same applies with different cable arrangments etc...
**Don't underestimate the resolution of B&O active speakers!

Great to see that you have seen heard the light sound!

I sure don't underestimate the quality and resolving power of B&O speakers. The midrange clarity, treble smoothness and detail, and imaging and depth I get out of my BL8000's never ceases to amaze me. I have a CD by Mal Waldron "You And The Night And The Music" that is exceptionally well recorded. The depth and imaging on this CD are amazing, in the song "Waltz For My Mother" you can hear the brush slide across every ridge in the cymbal, just amazing.
The times I've had the chance to listen to the BL 5's impressed me no end, it is the fullest range bass to treble speaker I've ever heard, and I've heard some very expensive kit, with size and prices that dwarf thr BL 5.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
