how do you stop recording to mem card on Beosound 4?

the instructions tell you how to start recording to mem card on a Beosound 4 but not how to stop. what is the trick?

just checked my electronic manuals - but no clue, and it has been several years since I made a recording ... so it is a bit of a guess:

1. press record at the end ... maybe it toggles on / off ?
2. press standby ?

nope, still turning off the unit at the mains to stop it....
