HI All,
I am new to this awesome Beoworld forum, and am the proud to be an original owner of a Beogram RX2 purchased in the 1990s. The unit seems to play well, except that as a musician, I noticed it seems to be playing records a little fast, making the music sound sharp by a half tone or so. I did a home bench test using an iPhone App named Turntabulator and another similar App, and both results show the TT spins faster than 33 1/3 by about 1.7%.
I recently purchased an SMMC3 cartridge from SoundSmith, and I also retipped my MMC4 cartridge with FJS Tonabnehmer in Germany. So the music sounds crisp and clear, aside from the sharpness I describe above. Also worth noting is that the unit has not been serviced since the date I purchased it in the 1990s.
Interested in your thoughts on this subject or whether I can address the speed problem myself, and what is an affordable way to have the unit serviced by a qualified technician.

Thank you. I am planning on buying a new belt on beoparts.com. Is this an easy user replacement?
Do I use a clean cloth to wipe clean the rim of the sub-platter, or is there more to it than that?
Thanks,
