I have a Beolab 11 which never gets used and I wonder why I even bought it? I am however considering a TV upgrade to a Beovision 11-46. Something in me says keep the Lab and use it with the Vision. Bearing in mind that the TV will have access to Beolab 5's in there any real benefit in doing this? Or should I just sell the Lab 11? Would it complement the Vision speakers at all or will it just be lost and another room cluttering, energy consuming white (silver) elephant?

If you have a pair of 5's, there is no way you would ever hear the beolab 11. The 5's will output way more bass.

Like Neil says... If you have BL5's... then the BL11 is of no use at all...

No, you misunderstand... of course with the 5's playing the 11 would cease to exist. I wasn't referring to that. I very rarely use the 5's with tv viewing. Only the occasional movie. I was referring to day to day use of the Beovision 11. Would the Beolab 11 supliment the TV or is it a waste of time?

The BV11 does benefit from the BL11 if it is the only speaker connected to it.

However.. If the BL5's are also connected to the TV.. then I don't see any use of the BL11...

Sounds like everyone is right on this one. Groups could be TV only, TV + BL5, BL5 only, TV+BV11. BL11 gives nice bass when you aren't doing very high volume, and the BV11 allows you to make a wide range of adjustments. I would keep it, mainly because it is so cool looking.

Just like poodleboy says, I would keep it!

When you are firsttime owner of a BSys4-based tv (as the BV11 is), you will have to learn to deal with the Speaker Groups

and the detailed settings, you can make there.

Once you have noticed how many possibilities you have doing so, you will appreciate, that you can make a TV + BL11 (2.1) group.....

.....when you don’t want to engage the BL5’s.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
