Hi all,

Bought a BV11-46 and V1-32 but still in packaging until house renovations complete. Wondered if existing owners could advise whether or not an Apple TV 4 fits perfectly in the back for close wall (and hidden) mount on both of these TVs or I should be buying the Apple TV 3 for a better fit. All help appreciated. Thanks, Simon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I seem to remember the size of the Apple TV 4 did not fit as it was designed for the Apple 3. I have a v1-40 with current apple tv, an an 11-46 with Appletv 4k, so will check to see if it fits see I get back home Smile

If I remember correctly the AppleTV 4/4K is a bit higher than the AppleTV3...

From my experience with the BV14.. it does fit.. But very tight.. opted to have it in a dedicated place, hidden behind the TV...

I did the same with my earlier Mk Apple TV. For two reasons... the compartment(s) is/are for the hinge motor mechanisms, and also it was originally reported that Apple TV's were prone to overheating and were designed to lie flat. Apparently that was why Apple did not supply a stand so that the Apple TV could stand vertically on its own. Having said all that, plenty of owners seem to have successfully used the Apple TV in one of the hinge compartments.

Are the latest Apple TVs designed to stand vertically as well as lying horizontal?

Graham

Thanks for replies, still unsure though whether to go with ATV3 or ATV4. I would prefer the later model (even though I don't need 4K) but no point if it doesn't fit nicely. I also didn't realise these compartments were for hinges; thought they were specifically designed to hold and hide an ATV, hence why I wanted to know which model version to get. Thanks again, Simon.

There's a difference between the AppleTV4 and the AppleTV 4K... The 4K has all the latest HDR and 4K features, where as the AppleTV4 is a souped up AppleTV3... As you don't have a 4K TV... just go for the AppleTV4.

Thanks Karel, I didn't know that. And the Apple TV 4 (without 4k) would fit nicely into the slot on the back of the tv without protruding out at all, yes? The tv will be flat against the wall, or on a floor stand, yet to be decided, but either way there will be no other devices or attachments as I will simply be using the built in Freeview tuner.

Thanks again, Simon.

The two Apple TVs you discuss have the same size. I doubt they will fit.

The Apple TV4 will fit! But it's the cables that make it difficult getting everything inside the TV. That's why I opted of having the Apple TV not inside my BV14.

I have an 11-55 and the ATV 4 does not fit. Even the ATV 3 was very tight with the cable and the TV back panel kept popping out. I chose to just put the ATV behind the TV with velcro, and later just sitting on a shelf behind
