Hello to all BO lovers,
I have a BO 9000 system, mounted with a BO subwoofer. 1 cable OUT to the sub.woofer IN plug and from the sub woofer to cables OUT to the left and right speakers.
This week whenI turned on my system the quality of the sound was terrible very distorted, sounded like an old radio with a bad signal. The sound was bad on the three speakers (Bass, left and right)
I did these steps.
1- I tried different sources, CD, Radio, Blue tooth (Spotify) the result was the unchanged
2- Then I turned off the main unit and the speakers the result was unchanged.
3- I tested the cabling system (originals).
a- I connected the speakers directly to the main unit by-passing the sub-woofer. Unchanged.
b- I Switched the OUT cable with another cable . Unchanged.
c- I switched the cables in between them . No better result.
Did I miss a test here ? Is there something I could do more for testing ?
It is very strange it was working perfectly well.
If these speakers were not of active type I would have said that the amplifier was gone.
Anyone experienced this ? Any idea how to proceed ?
Thanks to all of you. :)))

Hi M,
Please can you unplug the speakers and plug a good pair of headphones into the headphone socket on the front of the 9000? Is the problem still there please? I can then offer further advice.
Kind regards, Steve.

Hello Steve,
Thanks for your fast reply.
I plug in a headphone, it is also the same quality extremely distorted.
Since i see no reason,I start suspecting the kids in my absence..
Your light in the matter is appreciated.
Best regards
Marc
Which version 9000 do you have?
It’s probably time to fix or change some parts.
Hi Marc,
Beobuddy is right, this sounds like a fault on the 9000, time to get this checked out by a local B&O repairer.
Hello, thanks fo your reply. Yes I could see it coming. I hope my kids did not blow up something in there. I heard complains from my neighbours...
As for the model :
BEOSOUND 9000 - MCMXCVI- Type N 2561 SW 2.0 15W
