Hello,
Well this is a post for the old-schoolers ... I have a Master Link system in my house including a BV7 as a video master and a Ouverture as an audio master. Things have been working well for literally years...
Then when we switched to summer time i noticed the BL3500 no longer displayed the time. My wife informed me that she had noticed the the BL3500 had stop working some time ago, but had not mentioned it to me.
So after some fooling around i got it into service mode ... it showed Master Link Error 2 (data pulled low) and then No ML. Nothing has changed on my setup for some time, but I thought that the cable might be faulty so I swapped in another.
After resetting it as well as the video master & audio master the BL3500 now only reports Error 4 (data collision).
Is there some way to reset the Master Link network ? I have tried rebooting the BL3500 but nothing changes...
Any other ideas ?
- Scott
ah ... forgot to mention the software is v3.1 and the BL3500 has now gone back to Error 2, data pulled low. could it be a faulty PCB35 ?
Hi
If you can control your BS via your BV in option 2-0 it might be as below
Check your cabling, special if you have a splitterbox for connecting the BV and BS to one cable.
Then connect one working ML cable from your BS to BL and see if that works.

Thanks for your response,
Strangely enough the easiest way to check is the hardest for me. I use a LexCom Masterlink Module which means everything is wired in ethernet and I also use Lexcom cables that make the link from ethernet to MasterLink. I'l not sure I even have a ML cable.
This has been working for more than 10 years. So I guess the question is what would wear out first, the cables in the wall, something in the BL3500, the plugs, ... ? Everything else stil works for other devices or has been changed.
Is there any way to find out more about what is happening on the ML network ? What a mystery !
Thanks again,
Hi Scott
First Download the Master Link Handbook on this site under section service manuals. When done go the fault finding section that starts on page 34 and onwards. Read what error 2 means, clearly described.
You might need to get at ML Tester part no 8053404. By this one can test the entire cable system incl the Lexcom. The Lexcom system is described on page 28 and onwards in the ML handbook. You might get a ML tester . See the ML Handbook.
Brgds/Fritz
Thanks ! Will check it out.
