Hello Beoworld!
I'm very happy to report that I'm a new (and thus novice) Bang & Olufsen consumer!
I am Dan and I live in California. I am happy to report that I have the following equipment:
Beomaster 5500
Control Panel 5500
Beocord 5500
Beogram CD
Beovox Lab Penta speakers
I would like to acquire a Beogram 5500 in the future so that I may enjoy my vinyl collection, as well as CDs and cassettes.
I am also desirous to learn as much about getting these things to work, and work well together! As soon as I can locate my multimeter and my soldering iron I will be able to start to tackle some of the little issues that appear to plague vintage B&O equipment. I love the styling of this stuff, and am eager to get it all to play together! My father-in-law (a former musician and music officionado, bought all of this new in September 1989, so I'm pleased to now inherit it and work on it! My worst problem, the well-documented and dreaded volume control issue with the control panel, has the speakers pumping everything out at 60!
Regards to you all who are striving to sustain such well designed gear!
Dan

Hi Dan,
The BeoVirus was given to me by my father in law too! He bought the full 5500 system, including BeoVox Pentas brand new. Including MCP and an Attyca stand. He still happily uses the BeoMaster and the Pentas that I connected to his Samsung TV. Before the Samsung he had a Bevision MX7000 with a much better sound than the Samsung. The Master was overhauled by Beobuddy some time ago. The Virus made me buy the BeoMaster 6500, Beogram CD 7000, BeoLab 8000s, and some more :-).
I do not have the patience and skills to solder PCBs so they have been all serviced by Beobuddy. But I am sure that other forummembers will try and help you out.
Regards from sunny Netherlands!
Many thanks. I had eyed the B&O systems for decades but they were unattainable at the time. I'm sure that I'll be picking the brains of many herein!
