Hi.

I have today bought a used beovision 7-32 that i have connected to a pair of beolab 6000. I also have a Sonos ZP 90 that a want to connect thru the beovison.. Is this possible?

I have tried to connect it with one left/right phono cable, but i don't get any sound?

I was hoping that some of you guys out here can help me to solve this :)

Which ports did you connect it to, and what Beo4 command did you use ?

I hope you are using a LINE level signal from the SONOS ?

When you assigned it to AV2 you would have linked a source name to it.

Something like this section of the BV7-40 manual ... and then you need to add the same source name to the Beo4.

Adding the source name to the Beo4 is easy:

  1. simultaneously press [LIST] and stand-by (the orange dot)
  2. You will see a prompt on the Beo4's screen: "ADD ?"
  3. Press (GO)
  4. Then press [LIST] [LIST] ... until you get to the source name you have chosen
  5. Then press (GO)
  6. Now you can press [LIST] and you will see the source name displayed, you press (GO), and the BV7 will switch to the AV associated with that source name
  7. Since you will be using music only, you probably will want to add [P-MUTE] to your Beo4 using the above procedure so that you can "mute" the picture i.e. turn off the LCD but leave the speakers running Smile

Now i have done all you describe so well, but i still don't get any sound :(

I connected it to AV2 and assigned the name V-aux, and add this button to the Beo4 remote.. The Tv change to the right channel when i choose the V-Aux, but as mention no sound...

Is my beovision to old? It shouldn't have something to do with that, should it?

Your TV expects a digital signal and disables the sound from your AV2 port.

In your connection menu, disable your A1 port and set it to NONE.

I think the interface is expecting to see a video signal to indicate that the source is alive before it activates the audio processing Sad

I don't have a BV7 myself, nor a BV7-32 manual (I am using a -40 one to advise you)

But can you try AV5 or AV6 ?

AV5 might work as [PC]

AV6 will respond to the [CAMERA] command - and might work.

It could be that the BV7 is too "smart" (or tricky!) to be fooled into just processing an audio signal Sad

I have on the 7-32 just 3 AV input and one for camera.. I shall try the camera option, the problem here is that i can not program the Beo4 with an camera button... This is the first Beovision 7, so it don't have ant digital/hdmi ports.. But it should still work, shouldn't it?

I am getting a little bit frustrated.. Everything works like a charm, but no sound(which is the hole point).. If i am getting to the point of buying an Playmaker instead, would i have the same problem there?

Add CAMERA to your beo4:

- press standby + list together (display shows ADD)

- GO

- press list or arrows up/down till you see CAMERA

- GO

Now press list till you see CAMERA and GO

If this works: There is also AV4. It has 2 cinch-connectors you can use. Check the drawing on the backpanel. Just name in the connection menu for example PC and add PC in your beo4. Like I said in the explanation above.

Phuu.. I also tryed this, but nothing! In the meantime i tried to connect my Iphone with the right connections, and still nothing! I am beginning to wonder if this beovision is working as it should.. Sad

The best solution is maybe to connect the Sonos directly into "line in" on the Beolab 6000.. This i know works ;)

Since we know from your comment about the BeoLab 6000 that the SONOS line out is working, you should be able to drive the Playmaker from the Sonos, get the Lab 6Ks attached, and here the SONOS as well as your iDevices ....

.... but the Beovision will no longer be driving the 6Ks; is that acceptable ?

This thread has discussions about connection options for the PlayMaket ==> http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/3407/31056.aspx#31056

Hi Normann,

I don't know if your problem is solved already !?

You can use this box, it's called Powerlink-Switch.

Connect your Sonos to the input 2 of the box

Connect the Beovision to the input 1 of the box.

And connect the Beolab 6k to the output of the box.

The Beolabs will be shared automaticaly between the Beovision and the Sonos. This works very well.

I have an almando Multiplay at home, it's almost the same (only with an additional SPDIF input).

bye ...
