Hi all,

What do you think to a pair of lab 8000's coupled with a beolab 2 vs the penta 2's that I already have?

Cheers Nick

I have both and I like the sound of the Beolab 8000 better but the pentas sounds much more powerful. The sound is more detailed in my 8000s than the pentas. They are tighter and I like that, where the pentas are more "sloppy". However gives a great sound also.

Another thing is that the pentas don't look as good as the 8000s either. The visual aspect is quite important for me too.

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

I, too have both Pentas and BeoLab 8000 speakers and have found it best to use them in different rooms. The BL-8000s have a more crisp sound because of the smaller tweeter design, but don't have the mids and lows of the Pentas. I have found that by slightly boosting the treble on my Pentas, I can somewhat match the crisp sound of the 8000s. If both speakers are on a shared system in the same room, the Pentas would have to be your front speakers, and your rears, the 8000s, are always going to sound slightly more crisp, which may or may not work.

BeoLab 5, BeoVision 7-55 MK2, BeoSound 5 Encore, BeoSound 9000, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, BeoLab 7-6, BeoSound 8, BeoTime (analog clock), Beo 4 remote.
