beogram 4500

hi all can enyone help i seem to only have sound on one side of my system could this just be a settin issue tryed balance left ok no right sound???? its a beogram full system 4500

Is it only apparent on phono input??   If yes then..........

Could be mute relay or cartridge faulty.

Could be fault in DIN plug but unlikely.

I got my Beogram 4500 on Friday back from repair. Couldn't really wait to install it again, playing my vinyls within the Beosystem 4500 through Beolab 4500.

The first record was delightful. The second one until I turned the record as well. Side 2 turned out to be heard only on the right speaker!

I couldn't really find out what was going on. After a desperate break I turned again towards the Powerlink plug input at the Beomaster. Playing a record and moving the plug/cable a little in every possible direction I was able to get the music back to both of the speakers, fixing the cable in an appropriate position, listening actually to another record in nice and full stereo (supported by a superb working Beovox Cona).

I hope this may help you to get your nice turntable fixed.

Ah, maybe it helps to tell you what I've done to exclude that it's the systems fault. I played radio and CD and both were in full stereo. So I was able to make sure, that the turntable itself or the connection had a failure. Since I had it repaired and fully checked, I could assume, that most likely the connection had a defect. But the first time I tried, it was not detected, only at the second try. So if you already did some diagnosis, it might be worth a try to go through the program again.

From personal experience, assuming all connections look ok, the most common cause for a channel to drop out is the cartridge.
