I recently re-capped my Beocenter 9000 and also upgraded a few of the opamps as well as restored the CD operation.  It is a wonderful piece of engineering.  As part of this exercise I got more deeply into the operation of the unit.

I have a technical operation question.  When selecting "AUX" the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 8 appear across the top LED display.  Selecting AUX-8 will use the Microphone input, this is described in the users manual.

The Beocenter 9000 will also allow selection of AUX 1 through 5.  Does anyone know what selecting AUX 1 through 5 does?

The other AUX options relate to the situation where your Beocenter is in A.OPT2 and connected to compatible B&O VIDEO equipment via the AUX socket, as follows:

AUX 1 - TV

AUX 2 - V.TAPE

AUX 3 - SAT (or DTV)

AUX 4 - CDV (or DVD)

AUX 5 - V.TAPE.2

This enables you to select the above options using the Beocenter's front panel, rather than a remote.
