Hi All,
Need a little advice on setting up please:
I have a Beomaster 7000 and BeoVision 7 32 MK5 and I want to use the Penta III's from my music system as part of the surround system but still be the music systems main speakers.
The rears are BeoLab 4's and I have at my disposal a 1611 convertor if needed.
Ideas on the best way to hook up and access please?

would I connect the Penta's into the TV and make the TV the master (or if I'm going to loose Penta quality playing music should I opt using different front speakers)
leogoeswild:You will notice a change in sound from the units on the Beomaster when connecting the speakers to the tv.
I was wondering if anyone else had noticed!
I am slowly working on integrating a BeoCenter 2300 with my BV10 and noticed my BL8000s sounded very different when connected to the BV10 compared to when I was listening to music through the BC2300 with the BL8000s connected directly.

I just finished setting up my living room BeoVision - BeoCenter connection today. After going through the configuration and reading the manual on the Beolink converter 1611, I noticed that speaker connections at the audio master and at the BV are possible.
Page 3 in the manual for the BL converter says that the speakers can remain connected to the audio master if both devices are left in Option 1.

Evan I'll check this out as I was not happy with the BeoCenter "audio" quality when my Penta's were going through the TV (may still look at the switching route) and was a little sad that I lost the Penta display.
Are you happy with the setup both musically and visually ?

OK, so maybe it won't work for people with complete surround sound. This might be a thread for people with 3 channel systems

Sadly I no longer have Pentas but a pair of BeoLab 8000s instead connected to a BV10. Hanging on the wall nearby is a BeoCenter 2300. Apart from the wires currently running everywhere, the system looks great! I have only been listening to a few CDs (starting my collection over) and so far everything is pretty great. I have to admit, the BL8ks are also quite new to my ears. Only had the system for a few months so it is difficult to comment on sound. However, when I brought the BL8ks and the BC2300 home I connected them directly and popped in a CD. I was blown away and then after connecting them to the TV I did notice a decrease in dynamic range. Maybe this is just down to sound settings but it seemed like the dynamic range narrowed a little when I connected them to the TV.
Functionally everything works great! The BV is running the system and is on during audio playback via BC2300 but the only problem is that I have no idea what the volume level is. All CD info is only displayed on the BC. When playing a CD the BV switches off the screen and that is fine, but I have to walk over to the BC to read any info. Small gripe, but I am used to having a volume indicator haha
Last year when I had Pentas they were connected to my BM4500 which was connected to a non-B&O tv via the Aux input. I always enjoyed the displays, I was lucky enough to have a pair of MK3s with the green displays. I would be really disappointed if I was unable to have them working in a system. In these configurations the TV was essentially a source to the BM in a very traditional way. All video sources went to the TV via HDMI and the TV had an analog audio output that I connected to the BM.
Here are the last two apartment settings I had with the Pentas:
I can confirm that Pentas are great for everyday TV use. I never used them with a cable box but did have a PS2, BoxeeBox and an old DVD player for a bit. Life was never better!

You are correct, the BC will only send 2 channel audio. But then again, that is how I would listen to music as well - 2 speakers only.
I use a 3 channel configuration for TV, and Netflix etc and then switch to 2 channel for audio. Which I think the TV would drive the center channel as it normally would and then hopefully (I guess I don't know for sure) that the L+R channels would be routed to the audio master and connected BeoLabs.
