Hi All, I've recently picked up a rather handsome Beocenter 2200 in need of some attention.
Other functions work through the shared amplifier but the fm/ram/radio is not outputting anything on the right side channel. At IC5 there is a steady 3.9/4.1 volts before the signal changes to AC and dissapears into a bit of a maze of capacitors and resistors etc. Best guess is a dry solder joint on the way to the controller board but after many hours spent probing I have yet to track it down.
Low volume/missing channel seems to be a common yet unresolved complaint with these units. Does anyone who has worked on these have ideas? Any assistance greatly appreciated. !
Sorry also worth mentioning I have changed out all the capacitors in this path which had no effect.
Check the MPX filters. They are known to cause silent channels on FM.You can fit a simple short instead of a bad filter component.

Hi Dillen, I'm very pleased to report you were spot on with your diagnosis and bridging LP100 did the trick. Many thanks for the tip.
Can you see any problems with leaving it shorted.. 19khz hitting the speakers directly might not be great for tweeters.
There's not a huge amount of 19KHz content and the tweeters will just play it (if they can play 19KHz), so unless you have a dog with very good hearing, I think it will be fine.But theoretically you are absolutely right, and the best solution would be to replace the component with a similiar working one.Parts from scrapped Beocenters come up on Ebay regularly and I may even have something in the dungeons if need be.
