Beomaster 8000 mk1 and mk2?

I am selling a Beomaster 8000 through a action-site, and I got a question if it was serial after 2322001.

This makes me wonder if there was different versions produced. I was not aware of this.

Can someone tell me the difference in an mk1 and mk2 if there are any?

Tape monitor function was moved from TP1 to TP2 at some point.
I also seem to remember the connector bay changed slightly with regards to the RCA sockets.

The processor board was also changed.
It has a different metal shielding of the CPUs.

I must say, I have opened A LOT of these modules and I never ran into the problem shown at Beolovers page.
And I never had to do anything to close and solder the shielding back on, besides soldering it back on. - Even after opening several times.

I never saw the newer version module, - it was must be very few Beomasters that has it.

Yes, that was the first (and only) time I have run into that severe of a Beomaster 8000 shield box. On that particular case the previous person(s) that had messed with the board had broken the mounting tabs for the shield box off the circuit board. So an out of ordinary repair had to be applied. Although kind of ugly the straps worked really well and are still working on that unit. Other than that slight inconvenience a potential Beomaster 8000 owner shouldn't hold that against the earlier Beomaster 8000 serial number models. When they are restored they perform just as well as the later serial numbers. Maybe because I am in the USA there are more of the later serial numbers.

Mine is 30xxxxx, now he is telling me how difficult it is to repair. Let’s see what happens. I am also have a Beogram 8002 with MMC1 that needs repair, and a Beocord 8004 in perfect condition. Hoping he will by it as a package.

Those are all great System 8000 components. I would think anyone looking for that system would grab it.
