Hello there!

It's my first message on the forum after a couple of weeks lurking around trying to find a solution to my problem! SO I was wondering if someone could give me a hand on this.

I have a BeoLab 7.2, a pair of satellite BeoPlay s8, a BeoPlay Hub, mini jack to BeoLab powered trigger kit and a B&O Passive Amplifier type 1742/MCL2P.,

I also bought a  Neoteck DAC Converter Digital Optical Coaxial To slink to Analog Stereo Left/Right RCA 3.5mm Jack Audio Converter Adapter for PS3 Xbox

In the other hand, I bought a Samsung 55MU7000 (it doesn't have minijack) and an Xbox One X, and well.. and Apple Airport Express.

It all started with the BeoLab 7.2 and a few impulsive eBay decisions.

I would like to connect the TV to the speakers, and also use it to play music thru my iPhone.

Now... I'm a bit lost! Has anybody here a system similar to this one and made it work?? I'm guessing I need an Amplifier to hook everything, any recommendation of an affordable one would be much appreciated.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

Carlos.

Hello Carlos,

Welcome to Beoworld!  As your TV doesn't have a headphone socket, your best option is to use the S8 Connection Hub between the TV and the Beolab 7-2 to control the volume, with this cable from the Hub to the Beolab 7-2:-

https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/31-325-rj45-to-powerlink-compatible-all-in-one-cable-convert-new-2013-ethernet-powerlink-to-traditional-8-pin-din-powerlink.html#/9-length-18m

The S8 satellite speakers aren't likely to work well without the S8 subwoofer (this manages the sound that they receiver, so without it they will sound poor and be vulnerable to damage from too much bass).  The powered trigger cable is for use with a TV that has a headphone socket, so it will be spare in this setup, as will the Beolink Passive/MCL2P.

You can link the Airport Express to the 3.5mm input of the S8 Hub for playing music to the Beolab 7-2.  Please feel free to get in touch via my sponsor link below if you need any help getting everything connected and working.

Kind regards, Steve.

Thank you for the prompt response Steve!!! much appreciated.

I thought I could built a little surround system around the 7.2  :-/

Good to hear I can use the hub and a single cable!

Does anyone want to buy some S8 satellite speakers? hehe
