I hope they do well.

If they are ex-B&O TV people who were retrenched I applaud them ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ for this initiative

If they are not I still wish them well !

Sorry - but even if it was real, the fact that they use Android as the platform, disqualifies the project.

I genuinely wish them well, but unless they have some serious funding in place I'm not sure they'll gain much traction in what's already a shark-pool of a market.  If B&O can't make TV's work, what chance does a small unknown have?

If there's a mass market in 'Individual' TV's (and I'm not entirely sure there is), then why not just say "hey... let's take a Samsung, or a Loewe, or any panel you like - and customise it just for you!"

Then, give the individual customer a bespoke experience where you can craft a stand, cabinet, housing or whatever to the customers wishes.

I don't think a twist on a BV11 will cause much of a stir - but let's hope they do ok. I'm sure that in 1925, Peter and Svend were met with scepticism - and they fought through it.

Itโ€™s not THAT bad. A cross between the 5 and the 11 on a crappy looking stand.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

....on a crappy looking stand.

I have to say, that stand does look like it'd be more at home on a bedroom mirror than a TV.

Imagine if they knocked out a ยฃ1,500 UHD Tv that could seamlessly integrate with Beolab! Iโ€™d get one

In the specs only coax and headphone is metioned as output ports.

Hard to connect any BL there.

Wow,... even the web design has B&O written all over it.

In any case, it's pretty decent looking,... but I totally agree with Lee on this one. I'd be more likely to pay a company to dispose of the frame my standard LG, Samsung, or what have you, and create a bespoke housing.

If anyone wants to start that business - gimme a call! haha

But back to the set, I definitely give 'em credit for what they're trying to do here.

If you spend a little time on our favourite search engine looking up the company structure, who is behind it, follow up on Linked-In etc. you'll see it seems to be an ex B&O sales guy from Denmark now living in the UK with a track record of other Chinese produced (but generally well received) audio products who is behind this.

The website clearly would like you to get the impression that it is a Danish product but my guess would be that it is not the case - at that price point anyway.

The TV itself looks nice to me though: I wonder what the remote looks like?

DOh, I found an interesting article:

https://da.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linnet_%26_Laursen

Linnet & Laursen var en dansk radiofabrik, der blev grundlagt i 1946 af Harald Linnet og Valdemar Hofman Laursen, der begge kom fra B&O.

Linnet & Laursen was a company that produced radios in the 50ies.

The Company was founded by former b&o employees.

That company was Linnet & Lauersen (not Larsen) - which makes the difference.

I really like the design of this tv and can see it doing well. My concern would be about support once I'd bought the product and how to get it back, wherever back might be! I'd be one though for sure and definitely be intrigued to see it in real life.

Earle, I agree about the web design following B&O! First thing I thought when I had a look. Again though, seems very nicely executed so perhaps these guys who have broken away are the new, improved B&O? Maybe a good thing and perhaps they have a better understanding of what customers are looking for?

As for design, that's always going to be individual I guess, so a hard nut to crack.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Hi Chris,

This TV can certainly integrate (reasonably) seamlessly with a pair of Beolab speakers for stereo use (or 2.1 channel with a subwoofer), although it doesn't have a surround sound processor as B&O TVs do.  Let me know if you would like further details of how to do this.

I will be interested to hear if any Beoworlders buy one......

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.

They should proof read their website.

I found typos such as "uncomplicated stale of the art technology" quite funny for a company that aims for excellence in quality.

What a pity. BV Horizon 55", 4k with easel stand for 1500£ would have been sold like hot cakes (even without sourround and without HDR/OLED,.......).

Agreed. I would have been the first in the queue! I was astounded at the price of the Horizon when it was released. Couldn't see the market for it at all at that price range.

I guess the difference here though is pretty darned clear: this company is selling direct, B&O has to sell through dealers who require margins and have expensive overheads.

ie. for B&O to sell a Horizon in 4K for only £1500, when a dealer takes 30%, means they'd need to be manufacturing this for £300, tops.

Maybe we'll see a big change next Easter when B&O starts selling TVs direct. We might see a new business model? Who knows.
