"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
steve1977:but realized you cannot connect a BL11 to a BV unless you have a stereo pair connected as well.

I dug out the old forum post. Ravsted wrote: "in a none standard setup like this I cannot recommend connecting a B&O sub". Anyone with experience whether it is indeed possible to connect a BL11 (only) to a BV5?

Hi,
Yes, you can connect just the subwoofer to the TV, I think the suggestion was that this may not give you much improvement. Beolab 11 is best as a music speaker, for use with smaller satellite speakers, rather than a subwoofer for movies.
Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks, this sounds good. Could I connect it via Powerlink? The earlier posts in above link say that "front speakers has to be selected (Beolab Penta for example) if not, the subwoofer socket won't be enabled.". Given I don't have front speakers, this would not work for me.
From memory, I think this varies depending on the software level of the TV. The best option is to try connecting the subwoofer via Powerlink and see if the TV will accept this without front speakers connected. I would advise against using the front Powerlink socket for the subwoofer (use the Subwoofer socket) so that you get the correct sound from the TVs internal speakers.
