Sandyb:The design is nice enough, just nothing likely to be iconic in the future.
We may think that, from time to time, B&O designers are inspired by music instruments:
Beolab 8000 / 18 : organ's pipes
Beotime : (transverse) flute
Beosound Edge : bass drums (because of shape and vertical position)
Feel free to add to the list
CB:If you really, really have difficulties to find a good place for it in your house :
But be sure to swing it out, before you turn it on.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
leogoeswild: The Beosound Edge is pretty much a fancy version of this: https://tivoliaudio.eu/shop/orb-wireless-speaker?variant=ORB-1725-EU

Yes - they are both riund.....and the ‘fanciness’ is the difference.
It was a total masterstroke to bring Michael Anastassiades on board. He's an Achille Castiglioni of our age, you only have to open AD, World of Interiors, Monocle, Wallpaper etc. to see his work almost everywhere. I know a fair few people with his lamps and fittings at home, and I plenty of restaurants, hotels and shops I go to feature his work. It's also an aesthetic we've been seeing a lot in the B&O marketing of the past couple of years, in particular references to simple geometry and forms as well as all those brass tones. He has an excellent design pedigree, to add to that of the B&O story. Michael, like B&O also has form in mastering materials in an innovative way. That's my two watts....

Beolit 12/15/17 - the lunchbox the musicians carry with them to rehearsal.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.

It’s not a joke - seem to be the realty that a company like Metz likes to live in.
Shame on you, I say!
Different master, opposite response. Should you really have an opinion, not having ever seen one, and all?
That'll leave a mark, poodleboy.
How old is the TIVOLI AUDIO product?
I tested the EDGE 2 years ago, weird to call it a knock off.
METZ on the other hand....
Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence
Jeff: That'll leave a mark, poodleboy.
....or one pound.
Franc'ly, I'd think perhaps a kroner...
This kind of kroner, perhaps?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
leogoeswild:Still the Orb was released first.
You take the Orb, I’ll take the Edge.....even if I would not know where to put it in my place 😉
Emil Jensen: How old is the TIVOLI AUDIO product? I tested the EDGE 2 years ago, weird to call it a knock off. METZ on the other hand....
You should finish your sentence there. How is METZ a thief and B&O not?
Otherwise, all but a couple very special people here would want to know how you tested a working model of the Edge and it still took 2 more years to release THAT? Designer created a sconce that looked like Edge a long time ago. Everybody should look at this PInterest Inspiration page. Nice. We all know the tech is nothing special.
So what took so long, assuming what you say is true? Lack of effort?
The Edge has no backside - it has two fronts (like the named coin).
Would be nice to see the backside of this Orb.
I can’t even find any mentioning of the drivers used or amps.
How on earth did a comparison of these two different products come around?
Just becase they are both round, or?
Another round thing
Sandyb:How is that relevant?
Basis for all speakers/drivers 😉
Peace and pause....untill someone has heard and seen the Edge in action.
Beovision 7-55 MK1 red, Beolab 10 red. Beolab 50, all black. Beolab 17 broken ice. Beolab transmitter. Apple tv4 and apple express 2.

Millemissen:
Hypocrisy no problem when you are the source, eh? I will accept that.
Try Greek politics! They lead everywhere to nowhere and that's if you can single out just 1 of the 8+ people all talking over each other at the same time!
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I have never claimed to be of great knowledge, but using your brains and social media and fan site to make lies look like truth makes me sick. It is very obvious that pretending to be a big business makes you immune to the truth. I don't care about Edge except that it isn't anything great because B&O isn't making great things. It is that simple for people who do understand music technology, And it is just as pretty as what? Let the market decide.
Because B&O edge have a original design and METZ new speakers dont.
I know it irritates you that people in here a so positive about B&O, but it is a fan forum so it should not come as a surprise.
Why it took two years, I am not the right one to ask. But I guess quality takes time. The thing I saw two years ago was merely a concept made of cardboard and some 3d drawings. There is a long way from there.
The other question is that you must be blind when you feel that you can argument the way you do.
Or you could search google for what a internet troll, and tell me if that do not fit the bill.
leogoeswild:I just love this thread I need to get some popcorn and a coke
I need to get some popcorn and a coke
I guess you had it ready for the Swedish election anyway
Beolab 9 | Beolab 8000 | Beolab 6000 | Beolab 2 | Beolab 3 | Beosound 9000 | Beoplay A9 | Beomaster 8000 | Beovox M75, / S75, / S45.2
I guess people saying it sounds great as reviewers at the release have all said that its impressive. Someone along the line also said its sounds better than the A9.
Steady on - the observation was made that the design, while nice enough, was not necessarily especially original.
There is nothing wrong with that observation.
Fandom in one thing, but that doesn't mean critique is not possible.

Absolutely true, but it seems there are those of us who love B&O, or at least what B&O used to be, but are critical of the way things have been going and continue to go for them, and the "true believer" bobbleheads who think no matter how mundane and balky the product, it's B&O! How dast you complain!
Next, B&O will create a new speaker that's actually, wow, a rectangular box made out of WOOD! OMG! What a stunning design and so original!
