I have a 6 year old Beovision 10 TV on which the LCD screen has failed - heavy distinct purple stripes up both sides of the screen, fuzzy picture and heavy ghosting of images. The B&O specialist says the LCD screen has failed but a replacement is not available as B&O stopped making them more than a year ago. This effectively renders my c£10k purchase unusable and unrepairable. The specialist suggests that if he raises a complaint on my behalf with B&O in Denmark they may give me a limited time voucher for £500 to use against a new TV. He indicated that B&O don’t seem to care too much about this kind of thing. This doesn’t seem right. When I bought the TV I was told it was the best money could buy. No mention was made of the fact that it would be unsupportable after 5 years if anything went wrong. Has anyone else suffered a similar fate with this model? And does anyone have any advice on how I might go about redress that might amount to more than £500 off my next B&O TV?!

Its a throw away world... consider another used BV10 as a replacement.
Or time for an upgrade. Ask a dealer, I'm sure they would consider a discount against a new TV sale.

Since B&O don't manufacture their own panels, a replacement is only available as long as the actual panel manufacturer keeps making them. In the TV world these days,6 year old panel is considered ancient. Problem is that you obviously laid out a lot of money for the TV, very unfortunate for you.

Very sad to hear but it was discussed already here. Obviously there are few series of the LCD panels build into the BV10s which are of very poor quality and tend to fail. Most of them being 10-46 version. Is yours also BV10-46 version?

This is a perfect example of my argument for a separate BeoSystem. Screens are considered disposable these days. Having an expensive BeoVision with a great speaker and all of the processing built in is the recipe for frustration when the screen someday fails.

I can see both sides to this.
On one hand, if I spent a considerable sum on a B&O TV, based on the tradition that a B&O will last years, you'd at least expect your dealer to be able to offer a fix and B&O to have parts available, like a car manufacturer. Most car manufacturer's stock old parts going back years in case something fails for this very reason.
On the other hand, the market has completely changed and some B&O users still live in their old market circa 1990. Although I'm a bit confused how the poster spent £10K on a BV10 (my BV11 was only £4K 4 years ago), it's sadly only worth about £500 even if it was in a fully working condition. It might come as a shock, but £500 is actually a fair value as a 'trade-in' against a new B&O TV.

I've always been very happy using BeoSystems (AV7000, BeoSystem 1, BeoSystem 3, and now BeoSystem 4) and third-party screens. That way, I can hide all of the connections away in a cabinet and enjoy A BeoLab speaker as center channel. The BeoLab speakers have always far outlived the screens.
I have a BeoVision 10 (in addition to a BeoSystem 4 and two BeoSystem 3 TVs) and love it. However, I know that the day will come when the screen will go out and it can't be reasonably repaired. I was just at the local electronics shop yesterday and saw 4K TVs selling for $300 for the same size of screen. The days of having TVs repaired are long gone. With the speed of technological advancements and dropping prices, TVs are now disposable. The same can't be said of BeoLabs that last for decades.

Ok, sure - nothing to say there - the BSys4 is brilliant in many ways!
But we are talking today/tomorrow, not yesterday.
People expect support for 4K and co....especially because B&O can offer that currently.
Shall be exiting to see, what they come up with in Struer......if the rumours about ‘no more tv’s from B&O’ and ‘soundbars coming’ will be facts.
I wouldn't toss the TV. Some people have placed third-party panels into their old, dead BeoVision TV sets and made a few modifications to allow the new panels to fit and function properly with the internal BeoSystem. With the falling prices and slimmer thicknesses of LCD and new OLED panels, one could forseeably replace failed, older LCD panels with room to spare for proper fitment. Maybe someday, I'll dump an OLED panel into my 7-55 when it finally dies.

The justification for the price of BeoVisions has been that you're paying for and getting much more than just a screen: You're getting surround sound processing, speaker connections, PUC, multi-room sound, and (in most cases) an amazing center channel speaker. However, this means nothing when the screen goes bad if B&O doesn't offer the comfort of knowing that they can be stocked and replaced. B&O doesn't even make the screens anymore. B&O needs to stick to what it does well: making great speakers -- and let us source the panels ourselves at reasonable prices. We just need a BeoSystem for integration.

No, personally I’m happy with my BV Avant/2014 - seems to be a good one.
B&O never made screens!
A BSys4 - as good as it is - can not be a system integrator for the future.
There is no easy answer to this.
Either you spend/can spend the money on a new full BV..........if this should happen to you - (if there is one that suits you).
Or you make compromises, when combining a BSys4 with a modern 4K, HDR etc etc tv.
As I wrote: let’s see, if they come up something clever in Struer at some point.
WoW! As if I wrote this myself and we are in Jamaica! We got a technician to come to the island and the tv was replaced but it was very costly and cumbersome for us with customs etc etc.
We had it going good for a while after the fix then braps! The same thing happened again. Occasionally when we turn it on it's perfect but not for long; it reverts to lines and its nasty, crazy self. We wrote to Denmark and they didn't even bother to reply - so much for customer care!
Our B&O speakers are fine. Everything else B&O are fine.
We are now 'NEVER Bang & Olufsen' people. Grand waste of money and a HUGE disappointment.

Is it possible for you pointing med to threads about changing the lcd panel width newer versions - width at few modifications to the beosystem ?I currently have two BV 10/46 in the storage, both width problems(vertical lines and ghosting picture) on the LCD, and i'm not ready throw them away :)Best
