I have an Overture which I use every day, mainly via my I Pad and occassionally CDs but never cassettes.
Does anyone know of an elegant solution to fill in or cover the cassette holder? One idea I thought would look quite neat, if it were possible, was to source a metal bodied cassette with no labels or branding and leave that in the deck but does such a thing exist?
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks
There have been solutions which involve replacing the tape compartment with a holder for an iPod. However this would be expensive. How about one of these tapes?

Or this?

Thanks Peter, that plain tape would do the trick.
Looks fantastic but very expensive!
TEAC also made some very cool cassettes!
Vinyl records, cassettes, open reel, valve amplifiers and film photography.
Haha, Leslie,
the idea looks pretty good but I would prefer the same brushed metal.

A simple solution would be to source a flat piece of brushed stainless steel or whatever that matches the Ouvertures metal finish, fix that to an old cassette and simply load the cassette/plate into the unit.
If you think nobody cares, try missing a couple of payments.

You're right and I totally agree. This was my first attempt and I failed doing it in white. Looks quite ugly especially with the left and right plastic covers.
Now I made it in black and will post pictures later. If that fails then I will go for the brushed metal. Problem is to get the exact mirror polished metal that matches the keyboard and CD clamper.
Have been using a cheap Ipod 1G which cost around 30-40 euro 2nd hand. All signals are availabe on the Cassette printboard.

But where can I find that, its not brushed but mirror finished!
Søren Hammer: TEAC also made some very cool cassettes!
That looks great! Are they still available?
Glyn: Looks fantastic but very expensive!
Not really, around 40-50 euro incl. the Ipod.
I have been looking out for a tape to fill my overture aswell, where can I get one?

It has to be said that this is probably cheaper than a Teac tape!
Wow, 40-50 euros would be fantastic!
I've found this
Which is this:

Asked for a price, the Workman quoted me about 400 euros only for labour and the (old ) Ipod.
All the Beosystem is 1100 euros

This is just for a quote, i just LOVE my Ouverture with the casssette deck , for me is cooler than the Beosound 3000/3200.
I mean, i never use cassette too (but there is always a cassette inserted in the deck just for dust protection) , but for me the ''autenthic' design of that product is the MPAV9000/ Beosystem 2500 / Ouverture one, therefore WITH the casette deck.
The Beosound 300/3200 design seems to me a bit unautenthic, of course IMHO.
Seen that video, the man with the magic hands
2nd hand Ipods 1G cost here around 40-60 euro's on Marktplaats (Dutch "auction" site).
I don't care if these Ipods are scratched as long as the screen is okay!
Bought an Ipod cable (few $) only for the Ipod connector. On the cassette PCB (the largest board which you can see when the back cover has removed) you will find a connector (other side of the board) plugged in which has all the neccesary signals (5Vdc and Audio L/R signals) to reconnect to the Ipod connector.
Push on tape keyboard button and it works, at least for me. I'm not an electronic tech so please don't ask any questions on that level.
Leslie,
Just curious, have you been able to make the Overture change track and pause/play? If so, how?
Beo4 'til I die!
Evan: Leslie, Just curious, have you been able to make the Overture change track and pause/play? If so, how?
No, I have not, way out of my knowledge.
I have managed to connect the Ipod with the cassette board for power supply (5Vdc) and Audio signals but synchronizing thru USB still doesn't work.
Have you considered the Ridax controller?
Got one, have to try it first..
But not now cause the other virus caught me (flue)!
You can stay with the authentic design and use a iPxxx with the Remote control with the beorevox interface
