Hi
How do I connect a Google Chromecast to a pair of Beolab 4000s and what cables do I need? My Beolabs have 2 powerlink sockets and a phono socket, and a Line/L/R switch.
Cheers

Hi,
If your Beolab 4000 speakers have the RCA line socket fitted (and also a power button on the front) then they are the earlier mk.1 versions, so you just need one cable to connect both speaker to a single Chromecast Audio for high quality stereo sound:-

If you feel that adding a second Chromecast will make placement easier, please let me know and we can look at the best way to set this up for you using custom made cables, although this won't affect the sound quality.
Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch at the back.
Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks Nigel,
Cables in the post to you today.
Hi Steve,
I know this thread is quite old, but thought it best to pose my question here as opposed to carbon copying the topic of discussion. Regarding the use of Chromecast for Bluetooth audio capabilities, doesn’t this reduce sound quality? If so, aside from the beosound core, what are the best options to bring classic speakers like beolab 4000s into the 21st century without sacrificing quality?
Cheers,
Sean
Hi Sean,
Hopefully this video will help answer your questions (please bear in mind that there two two versions of Beolab 4000, each version needs a different cable):-

As long as your speakers have a power button on the front and an RCA socket at the back (next to the two Powerlink sockets) then everything mentioned in this video will work for your speakers.
