Hi All,
Currently i have a Beocenter 9300 connected to a pair of Beolab 5 using powerlink cables. I'm thinking about replacing the audio unit to a Beosound 9000 and use the digital output.
But can anyone answer a few questions-
I listen to music from 3 sources, the CD player in the Beocenter 9300, a technies record deck 1210 to a pre-amp then to the Beocenter input, and the third is playing WAV and FLAC files from my phone using a 3.5mm audio plug to the aux socket in the 9300.
My question is will only the CD source sound better with the digital output from the beosound 9000??
Will the record deck and mobile phone input sound the same as using the current powerlink cables??
Hi Paul,
When you add the 9000, please connect the speakers to this and then link the Beocenter 9300 to the 9000 (if you are keeping the 9300) to share the speakers. The digital audio from the CDs in the 9000 will go via the S/PDIF cables (https://soundsheavenly.com/beolab-5-beolab-50-and-beolab-90/34-274-beolab-5-50-and-90-s-pdif-digital-cable-ofc-with-gold-contacts.html#/4-length-3m) for improved quality, while all other analogue sources (iPod, Tape, radio, etc) will continue to go via the Powerlink cables without any difference in sound quality.
Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks for your message.
How do you link the 2 units together? Do you need to change the options on the units (master/slave)??
Interesting that the 9000 only has one aux input so I would keep the 9300. It would be really cool if I could use the CD on the 9300 and still have the record deck and phone audio going to the 9300!!!
Thanks
You can use this cable from the pre-out sockets on the 9300 to the Aux socket on the 9000 to let the 9300 share the speakers:-

Please set the 9300 volume to maximum and put it into option 0 (no remote control reception) to give a clear sound and to avoid conflicts between the two units.
