Just found that all the internet web pages previously visited/ used on my BV11 have suddenly gone, but there is a new facility to mark favourite web pages. What a pity this could not have been done without wiping out the previous history.

Of particular annoyance is that the Radio Paradise with slideshow web page seems to have gone, although this may be more to do with RP upgrading its streams. The alternative of accessing RP via an iPad and mirroring via an Apple TV is nowhere near as satisfactory as was viewing direct on the TV.

The perils of a not-so-smart TV that only stays not-so-smart for a limited time.

I haven’t used the WebMedia section for ages (who else than you does that?)

Just tried this evening - you can find the RP siite there and it shows up, but does not get activated.

Anyone, who has an ATV4 can find the app there - with maybe evn better pictures.

Otherweise use the Netradio function of the tv.

This does not give you the beautiful pictures, but is by far the easiest way to Radio Paradise.

Ha Ha!

Unfortunately none of the alternative ways of getting Radio Paradise work as well as the previous website. My guess is that RP has upgraded its streaming, and the legacy streams still available on the web have not included the slides.

Apple TV/iPad app will only give slides rather smaller than the TV screen. Thankfully the AAC stream still works on my Olive 1 ( but don't get me started on the lack of Olive software and radio library updates, despite the latest hype in price to c £1500. Was I lucky with that original crowd funded version at $399 plus taxes!)

Elsewhere in the house an old Android Lumigon phone happily feeds RP to a BC2/ ML BL3500s.

I would use Webmedia if it worked reliably. When streaming from the internet, the browser spontaneously quits after varying periods of time. Of course, streaming from iPad to the AppleTV works without interruption. Why can’t B&O do “reliable” when it comes to software?

In this case B&O did not do anything ‘software’ here. The solution is 100 % bought-in.

Bed choice you may say, yes - and I agree.

But honestly I don’t miss it - my ATV4 (and iPad -> ATV) gives me a nice smarttv solution - and browsing websites is nothing I would want to on a tv.

The flaws of the WebMedia section on BV11 etc aside.

What you missing in the RP app of the ATV?

Gorgeous pictures - with or without amination effects.

Losless bitrate.

B&O took customers’ money and provided an unreliable solution. It doesn’t matter whether they chose to do software development in-house or to buy a package. Their quality assurance process should have prevented a poor experience reaching their customers.

And whilst some customers had Webmedia bundled up in the price of their Beovision, other poor unfortunate souls paid extra to get it!

Also, I am not randomly browsing the internet on the V1. I am trying to access a channel that is only available via the internet.

I stupidly thought that it would be a more robust solution to livestream a foreign-language TV station direct from their website to my V1 using its browser, rather than from their servers to their iPad app to an AppleTV to the V1.

Wrong - we need to rely on Apple for reliability.

And you are right in that, MM: the AppleTV definitely IS a nice smarttv solution. It’s a shame Webmedia isn’t.

And on B&O to use a proper remote for the ATV 😉

Not full screen. However, Bill Goldsmith at Radio Paradise has given me an alternative URL for inputting via the web media page, and it works! Full screen pictures as before:

http://radioparadise.com/rp_2si.php

His theory is that browsers are being forced to use https URL's and if they don’t a warning banner comes up. Apparently TV browsers often cannot cope with https rather than http. What service that man gives from Radio Paradise. B&O and the BBC could learn so much from him.

Although it does not look so in my pic, it sure is full screen from the ATV4.

But thanks for contacting Bill (he seems a great guy) and thanks for the alternative link...

...which I’ll try out tonight.

I now believe that the latest Apple TV's have Radio Paradise as a built-in app, so no need for mirroring. I'll need to do some upgrading!

That’s what I meant before.

I did try out this new adress - which works well.

But, but - you can only choose a bitrate up to 192 there.

This is funny, if I put in the same adress (click the link) on my iPad, I can choose up to 320!

In the app on the ATV4 you can choose the losless version, which is what I have done.

I’ll definitely stick to the ATV4 app!

A lot less fiddling with cursor etc  - and Pause/Play is available via the Beo remote.

But it is nice to know that it works (again) in the WebMedia section of the BV’s - for the apple-free guys 😉

P.S. You can find the RP app in the app store of the ATV.

I’ve placed mine in the top line - for easy access.
