A fellow Beoworld’er and I spent a while trying to figure out why his Beogram 9000 wouldn’t act like there was a record in place. Symptoms of starting, spinning etc but not dropping.

What we found was that by adding a small piece of rubber behind the coil, as seen in the picture, the table worked as intended.

But what we couldn’t figure out was, what was actually failing to require this additional help. Is the coil not functioning as strong as it should. Is this a mechanical problem? Would recapping this board help? We’ve seen melted coils here, but this one moves almost as it should compared to a working Beogram 5005, just not far enough.

The position of the main circuitboard needs to be adjusted when fitted.
If it has been taken out, it may have to be adjusted. Refer to the servicemanual.
