I have two problems with my Beocentre 7000 and wonder if anyone can supply parts/advice so I can attempt repair as I fear that if I send it off to be repaired that may lead to damage via transport.

Tape deck problem - it clicks when I press play or rewind/fast forward but there is no movement of the tape on the cassette. Looking back through posts back in 2013 it looks as if this is a belt problem. At that time there was a contributor Dillen/Martin who was a known supplier of the right belts for the right machine.

Is Martin still out there, or anyone else who can guarantee provision of the correct belt?

Turntable lid problem - It has lost its hold mechanism, so I have to use one hand to hold the lid up whilst using the other to insert or remove LPs. Can anyone suggest what parts may be needed?

All the best

Martin (Dillen on this site)can indeed supply a full service kit for your Beocenter tape deck.

The kit comprises not just the correct size belts, but also replacement rubber idler tyres too.

By fitting these parts, and also of course cleaning and relubricating the mechanism, you should be able to restore the performance of the machine.

The record player lid is biased by a strong spring which loses it's tension over the years.

You will need to dismantle the lid to re-tension it.It's a fiddly daunting job but worth it to get that nice effect of the lid self supporting.

e.mail Martin via the site. You can also view the service manual here too.
