Hi I’ve got a really nice Beocenter 3500 - same deck as Beogram 3000 as you’ll know. I’ve noticed that on some records the outer edge of the cartridge rubs on the record (usually at the start of the side). Looking at the front of the cartridge it doesn’t seem to be quite horizontal so that the right hand edge of the cartridge is perhaps a bit lower than the other side and so catches some records. There’s a small screw on the underside of the tone arm where the SP12 fits in. Is that to adjust the horizontal position of the cartridge? Hopefully someone knows before I do any damage! Thanks for any help.
Hi. You may succeed in adjusting so that the cartridge is back to its normal position, yes, if it comes to that (which I doubt).
It may very well be that the SP12 suspension has finally collapsed.

Thanks for the advice. I did wonder about the suspension. Maybe I’ll get a replacement cartridge on eBay. It does look pretty low when the record is playing. Cheers.
Check the tracking force.

You’re right Martin. It was way too high. I’ve set it to 1.2g and it seems OK now. I was looking at a new stylus but maybe that can wait! Cheers for the advice!
