I have a Beolab 3500 in my bedroom and want it to connect to my NL/ML converter and play the audio that's being feed into the audio left/right RCA jacks in the NL/ML converter. Note: the Beolab 3500 is connected to the ML network as is a Beosystem 2500.
I have a Beosystem 4 connected via a router to the NL/ML converter and its configured to play audio from the NL/ML converter and works without issue.
On the Beosystem 4 the "Line In" source is configured to the Audio jacks of the NL/ML converter. I'm not a B&O tech by any means but I think there is a system configuration that identifies what components are in the system. Example: When the CD button is pushed on my BEO4 remote the system knows that it should play the CD in my Beosystem 2500 and the sound should come from the Beolab 3550 if that IR receiver detected the CD button push or the Main speakers in my living room if the Beosystem 4 IR detects the CD button push. Within the Beosystem 4 setup I was able to assign "Line In" to the A-Mem button so the Beosystem 4 switches sources to "Line In" whenever its IR sensor detects the "A-Mem" button push. It just happens that "Line In" has been configured to the audio inputs on the NL/ML converter. This configuration of the Beosystem 4 is completely separate from the Beolab 3500.
With the Beolab 3500 I'm unsure how to configure the BEO4 remote to activate "Line-In". I know you can add additional buttons to the BEO4 but I didn't see a "Line-In" button. Is there another button name that B&O operates as "Line In" that I could add to the BEO 4 remote? Since you can add an IR eye to the NL/ML converter there must be an IR command that would select those audio jacks.
Any ideas?
Hi,
the Line-In of the NL/ML converter should be selectable by A.Tape2 / A.Mem2 if defined in the converter.
This way it can be accessed from the Beosystem 2500, the Beolab 3500 and the TV.
An additional IR-Eye at the NL/ML convertore is not necessary in this case, only the converter has to be programmed to use the Line-In if the source A.Tape2/A.Mem has be requested somewhere in your setup.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately A.Mem and A.Tape2 didn't work for me. I guess I need to know how things are defined in the converter. If anyone knows what's needed to access the converter please chime in. Thanks.
I'm closing this topic and will start a new one dealing with my NL/ML converter configuration. Thanks
