Quick heads up, I installed iOS 12 last night, and BeoRemote App crashes on start up.
I am on iPhone 7, iOS 12.0
I use this way more than the B&O App despite the newly added remote function, so a little disappointing. If you find the app indispensable, maybe consider holding off upgrading until we know what B&O's intentions are wrt to the Remote App....
Same here on iPhone 6. Crashes constantly. Hopefully an incentive for B&O to make the remote in the B&O app more intuitive.
iPhone 6 and IOS12 since beta: no problems...

Interesting, are you on build 16A366?
I tried reinstalling the BeoRemote app, but it just crashes again, once it finds the TV and loads the source list.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
I asked B & O via Twitter for the following answer:
"Hello, the Bang & Olufsen Remote app does not work with iOS 12! the app always crashes, operation not possible! when is there an update? The last Update was 5 !!!! Years"
Hi Erich, thank you for your message. I'm very sorry that the BeoRemote app isn't working in iOS 12. As far as I am aware, we are currently trying to migrate all of these features into the B&O app. However, I will be checking with our technicians to be sure. As soon as I get more information, I'll let you know.

I hope they can push out a fix for it, especially given the B&O's own acknowledgement that the new Bang & Olufsen app is not up to standard as a TV remote compared to BeoRemote. I don't think I'll hold much hope if they outsourced the dev of that app though...

Oh.. Just realized I'm talking about the new B&O App; not the remote app... Sorry.
Besides the problem with BeoRemote,
there is also some issues with the Bang & Olufsen app..after updating to iOS 12 the app freezes and looses the connection to my BV11 when I am using the new remote function.... the problem occurs when I am switching between the different remote “side🙁
I think that problem would be fixed soon, But software development doesn’t seem to be B&O’s strongest side, the app has been available in a couple of years now, but I still think the Old Beoremote app is working better.... at least until iOS 12 came on the market.
I have recently switched to the B & O app because the Remote App does not work at all and crashes!
But the B & O app does not work as desired and freezes!
I can only advise you to report directly to B & O so that you know that it is not an isolated case!
I’m having the same issue with B&O remote app and IOS 12.
I have the newer B&O app, but there is no option to select my
V1-40 TV. Am I wrong to assume the new B&O app does not support the V1-40?
many thanks and all suggestions welcome.
Cheers, John.
It should work. New app (1.9.10) works fine with my V1-32 with the latest firmware.

Thank you so much for that - it's good news as the remote app is what I use, given that I can also control iTunes and my Bluray player etc from similar apps on the iPhone.
My V1-40 is running the latest software, and ditto the iPhone; when I opened the B&O app on the iPhone, there were pictures of the latest B&O TV's, but no mention or picture of an V1-40.
Which TV do you select on the app to control the V1 series - I would assume being Beosystem 4 it would be the same as for example an Beovision 11?
Many thanks again
John
Ooops.... I feel embarrassingly dense...lol... I was trying to scroll through the list of TV's in the App vertically, and didn't think to scroll horizontally... found the V1 and all connected.
The app looks nice but the functionality seems severely limited compared to the full functionality found in the B&O remote app.
I hope B&O will update it to run with the latest IOS..
Many thanks again... blushing with embarrassment...
Hi All
I've updated to iOS 12 and my Bang & Olufsen app works fine with BeoSound 2 & Beoplay M5. I don't use the TV remote functions

Thanks for the insight Opman, but this thread is specifically about the BeoRemote app and television control, not the Bang & Olufsen app, (which has consequently also stopped working, for me at least, to control the TV functions on a V1/Beosystem 4 since the iOS 12 update).

I am having the same issue with the new Bang & Olufsen app, it the app freezes when you attempt to control the TV. Putting the individual device into standby doesn't freeze the App.
But to echo Boxsti, it definitely needs reporting to support.
I have received a reply from B & O, unfortunately not as desired!
I think it's a shame that the remote app is not updated, it would have been a small problem to fix the iOS 12 bug!
The answer:"Hi Erich! We are sorry for the inconvenience. We reviewed this internally and the BeoRemote app is no longer maintained as it has been replaced by the Bang & Olufsen app. Adding your TV to the Bang & Olufsen app will give you similar control features as in the BeoRemote app. Please install it and try it out."
Also had an identical response yesterday evening :(
Definitely altist, Sound modes, speaker group, join and picture on/off all used lots by us on the 'old' remote app, the TV control in the 'new' app pales in comparison, in terms of easy access to these functions, and even just accessing the TV remote control adds additional (and unnecessary) steps.
My only guess is that if it wasn't developed in house, it wont be easy for them to fix. That being said, the remote is still available to download in iOS App Store...
I wrote B & O that I can not work with the new app because many features are missing!
Your answer:
"Hi Erich. We are very sorry for this, but we are also very excited to tell you that the App is getting a huge overhaul right now and most of your beloved BeoRemote App functions will be included in the newly reissued App very soon! We still do not know when precisely we can expect this huge update, but it should be very soon! Gr B&O Support"
Any news as to when we may expect a new version of the Beoremote app that works with iOS 12 or an update of the B&O app that includes all (and hopefully even more) features of the old Beoremote app.
It is quite frustrating to see that they do not update the Beoremote app (which worked rather well and had interesting features) but seem to replace it by a general app that does not even come close to the features of the Beoremote app. At B&O they seem to forget that their customers are buying (hopefully) premium products at a premium price and would like to be able to use them for several years, including the functionalities and features offered by the Beoremote app that was promoted when I purchased my TV (Avant 55 combined with Beolab 20 speakers). It is not as if you (or at least not me) replace a +8k EUR TV every year.
This is the second app frustration I have with my Avant 55.... The first one being the disappearance of the Deezer (and Spotify) apps on the Avant. The fact that the Avant had the Deezer app as a built inn, easy to access (just a push of a preset button), feature was one of the reasons for me to buy the Avant. After months of frustration because the app did not work/load as it should (often crashing or only loading after several attempts) they apparently stopped updating the app and deleted the app from the Avant ; apparently there is a new version available on the next generation Avant but that dos not really help owners of the previous Avant which is only a few years old.... Sure there are workarounds (streaming your Deezer app from your iPhone to an AppleTV connected to my Avant) but the whole purpose was to have an easy to use one box solution....
