Dear members,

I have a Beosystem 7000 connected to an old Avant via 1611 and Masterlink. I've also used MCL and an MCL2AV to connect an additional pair of speakers (operated through the fantastic LCS7000). I wanted to connect a Beogram 4000 to the Beosystem 7000 and therefore had the original RIAA mounted to the Beomaster 7000. My Beogram 7000 has still been sitting in the shelf but obviously without being connected or getting any use. I now wonder, whether it would be possible to still connect the Beogram 7000 in my system. All connections of the Beomaster 7000 are occupied since I have connected two Beocords + Beogram CD + Beogram 4000 and Aux is needed for connection of the 1611. Can I connect the Beogram 7000 directly to the MCL2AV? Any other options?

Greetings,

Kai

Hi Kai,

Yes, as the Beogram 7000 has a pre-amp built in, you can connect this to the CD socket on the front of the MCL2AV and activate it (in the link room only) by pressing "LINK CD".

To play to the main room, the Beogram would need to be connected to either the PHONO or the CD input of the Beomaster 7000.

Kind regards, Steve.

Thanks Steve,

that's already a good hint. However, all of the kit mentioned in my initial post is located in one room and I use the LCS7000 in Option 4. Therefore, pressing Link - CD activates the Beogram CD 7000 connected to the Beomaster 7000. This would probably lead to a conflict when I directly connect the Beogram 7000 to the MCL2AV. Therefore, the question boils down to - given the many sources already connected to my system, is there a possibility to include the Beogram 7000 without creating such a conflict of operation?

Cheers,

Kai

Could the Aux input of the MCL2AV be an alternative? Aux in the Beomaster is only occupied with the connection to the Beolink 1611 converter. Cheers, Kai

Hi Kai,

Yes, this is possible, but you won't have remote control of the Beogram unless the CD socket is used.  You would need to activate the Aux socket and then manually start the Beogram using the button on the top panel.

Kind regards, Steve.
