Hi All,

I recently purchased a pair of Beolab 5000s and a pair of Beolab 3000s for use with my Beosystem 9500.  Sadly, the seller didn't pack them properly and they were placed face to face in the box without any protection.  On the 5000's, both smoked plastic covers that go over the LCD displays were broken.  All the speakers have dents and scratches on the metal face panels as well.

I'm looking for replacement parts to restore the speakers.  All of them work great and sound incredible, but they look pretty shabby right now...

The tinted plastic covers for the displays are my immediate need.  I've seen some people on the forums have been able to reproduce these parts or order replacements.  I've also seen some people who have removed and replaced the polished aluminum and colored panels (freds?).  Any suggestions (including the proper names for these parts and part numbers, along with any sources who might have replacements available) would be very much appreciated.

I think a former member here by the name of Leslie used to make them.  Here's a post on how you might be able to reach him.

Thanks for the tip.  I tried to reach out to Leslie.  Looks like Leslie hasn't been around here for a while, but maybe I'll get lucky on Facebook or email.

Probably not. He has some rough health issues right now and has stepped away from restoring.

If you join the Bang & Olufsen audiophile Facebook group and look back to photos from aug 2017 you can see what he had made.

Here is a photo from that group

I'm sorry to hear Leslie has some heath issues going on. He always has done amazing work. I have a set of the metal panel replacements for the Beovox 3000, they are quality products. The lettering is perfect, the only difference is that they are gloss chrome not brushed steel, but look stunning regardless.

I sincerely wish Leslie well.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Anybody have any more info on beolab/beovox 3000/4500/5000 rehab and repair?  especially how to get dents out of the stainless and scratches out of the plastic?
