Why don't they make a upgradable audiostreamer in the active speakers,so we don't need those ugly boxes anymore.

Because the original Auralic Aries and the BeoSound 5 Encore were so cool-looking.

Maybe you could hook it up to a Moment and have the mood wheel color selected be matched by the lights.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

I've been told that there are plans to bring in a audiostreamer into the beolab 18.

Can anyone confirm this

Wish they would do something for the BL90s.

I know it’s not a big market but something that is good enough to be a common denominator across the range.

The BS Core looks totally unsuitable for all the digital Loudspeakers:-

DAC? Bypass or not bypassed?

Toslink but no Coax?

USB but is it Audio USB?

known to hang up with the BL90!

It may be ok with active BeoLabs but the world has moved on again...and some

B&O promotes the BS Core as the solution.

The BS Core is versatile - can be used standalone with speakers connected, as a connected source in the NL network, as an integrated part of a BeoVision and (not to forget) as an external source connected to the old BeoSystems/BeoMasters using a spare A.Aux/A.Mem port even feeding a ML setup.

Apart from using the Bang & Olufsen app (and other external apps) you can connect an ir-eye for convenient controlling with a Beo remote.

Not trying to say that the BS Core is the best audio streamer in the world - and not wanting to discus that some seem to have had bad experiences with it.

But it seems there is no other streamer, that integrates that well with a wide range of the B&O products as the BS Core.

OK - everyone needs something different - and can find ways to use it/something else.

Personally I can’t see anything ‘audio streamer’ than the Core coming from B&O for some time.

P.S. The Core is upgradeable.

If you have a NL/ML converter you can attach a streamer to the NL/ML audio input jacks. I have a bluetooth adapter attached to mine and can playback music stored on my phone to my Beosystem 4.
