Today I ventured in the Canary Wharf shop, whilst my wife bowled around the city saying CHOW, and BUY BUY SELL etc

What a nice young man that works in there. Very keen and knowledgeable who also sold me a pair of Earset 3s, a modern wireless take on the classic A8 headphones. You’d think they were total tosh after reading a review or two, but for me they still retain the excellent design of the A8s, whilst adding oodles of the bass that was so missing from the fore mentioned.

After my last B&O purchase which was nothing sort of fraud, tomorrow I’ll be putting that behind me and buying an Eclipse 55 with the motor stand and blue fret.

They have some excellent discounts on ex demo stock too. When I say ex demo I mean 6 months old from the shop floor, not odd stock repackaged from 8 years ago.

Well worth a visit.

Vish and Matt are friendly the good thing is that they know and make an effort to keep up with tech as much as they can for integration with bo

I had the blue grey colour with the 35 in brass on a table stand. One word : elegance

You can’t go wrong with the eclipse unbelievable product once you have oled you can’t turn backBig Smile

Either way congrats on the eclipse.

1: The Loewe is total crap. Keeps freezing, blinking and the cabinet vibrates at certain frequencies

2: The virus is strong in this one.........

Nice to ear Chris, post a pic or two of your new tv when you get it.

Blue is also my color, maybe i'll pull the trigger after you and before the 1500 € offer ends.

I’ve gone for the oak grill. Once we find where we want to buy a house we will install some matching Beolab 18s with the same grills.

Essentially this setup, but the darker wood. I’ll get a Beolab 19 in time to match the also wireless 18s. I’m done with big bulky speakers(until I eventually get some Beolab 50sErm..) cluttering up the place.

Thankfully if Corbyn gets into power, the entire Middle East pretty much runs on the British AC system, so at the moment until we know what’s going on, we aren’t buying anything we can’t readily pack up and emigrate with.

I’ll post a picture.Yes - thumbs up

Good guys at Canary Wharf, from the owner to the sales staff.

Matt is great by the way. Lovely guy.

Enjoy your Eclipse. I've just purchased one for myself, too!  Now to learn how to set it up and navigate the menus etc. Fun to learn new stuff!

.... congrats on your - new - B&O tv

It's pre-owned I'm afraid. Hard to break the habit of a lifetime (or lifestyle, even..)

Sold my TV plus four speakers and subwoofer to pay for it - so hope the inbuilt speaker is good!

Over time, I'll build up a new surround system. Good things come to those who wait and all that. Smile

The speaker is excellent, but suffers a bit under loud bassy conditions. Sicario scene at the border lots of gunfire. Add a 19 and it will be perfect. Has a speech amplification mode which id appreciate.

Deposit paid, awaiting delivery. I know it’s not the full Beovision experience(curtains etc), but it’s the best I can get. And I’m looking forward to matching it up to Beolab 18/19.

Wow, you were easily won over Chris. Not long ago you were *adamant* you were going to buy Loewe, had enough of B&O and certainly wouldn't be buying a new B&O TV.

What converted you to reverse that decision?

The Loewe’s cabinet vibrating, it randomly turning itself off, the picture literally jamming(had to run off at wall) and flashes on all channels as if the USAF were deliberately jamming my set with interference.

I’ve called the dealer 20 times, 3mailed them and Loewe, visited Loewe in Harrods and even complained on their Facebook page. Not one call, visit or anything. So they can have their crappy set back and I ain’t paying for it.

If anything it will be to have the option of easily matching it to a plentiful supply of Beolabs. I know it can be done with other sets, but one I can’t be arsed, and two I want the tv grill in oak to match my future Beolab 18s.

Can’t do that with a Sony! Deposit paidCool

And as an extra thought.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable after what my previous dealer did by selling me an odd pair of 8 year old Beolab 5s, at demo shop floor prices, that I was rightly angry at them and the brand.

But after a certain amount of time, and most of all meeting some really decent dealers, I’m not going to let one bad egg spoil what is a 40 year brand relationshipYes - thumbs up

So far, 9 months into my Eclipse ownership, I haven't experienced anything like the above.  It's been a remarkably trouble free experience, especially considering it was a brand new product (and B&O's recent, unfavorable history with brand new products).

Hi Chris

I was replying to Ben in South Africa as they don’t have the Eclipse there. Enjoys yours once it’s arrived.

Hi Vish,

Has the lovely John Soames sold out?

Normal 0 false false false EN-GB X-NONE X-NONE echo14.com/about

"From June 2001 to November 2018 John has owned and operate three Bang & Olufsen shops, in Canary Wharf, Kingston and Upminster.  And during that time, the ability for a single manufacturer to supply all your Audio Visual Needs slowly ebbed away. "

Hi Stuart

It is an option but I am a bit reticent to go that route as I doubt there will be proper support for the product from local dealers.

Thanks though.

Hi,

Sorry I hadn't seen this response.

John no longer owns the Canary Wharf franchise - it is now under the NuConnect management but Matthew and I, are still here running things as normal.

Johns still around, I do still speak to him quite often and still quite involved in home networking & AV but no longer owns the B&O CW store.

Thanks

Vish
