Yes use it daily to trigger macro”s on the beolink gateway.

Alexa turn on bathroom, lights up and bs core playing

My favorite, ALEXA turn on goodnight

Lights go down to 1%, skylights will close, all stuff stops playing, beovisions, cores etc.

I go slowly to bed and the lights turn of, except the night light of the little one, it turns to pink and stays at 1%Big Smile.

I am still looking at curtains and heating but I am almost there.

It is one of the most convenient skills, no buttons just talk to Alexa.

Hello chucky,

I didn't mean the Khimo skills for Alexa. I mean the physical gateway...

https://www.khimo.com/

It looks like Khimo is producing a gateway in cooperation with B&O and they claim it is the successor of BLGW....

That will be a welcome update.

I love the blgw but the technology world moves so quickly it’s nice to have a dedicated group like khimo building and updating the new gateway device.

Khimo has always been behind the BLGW (for better or for worse). I find it odd that there is no reference to this new device on the BeoIntegration site, the B&O site, press releases, or even youtube. I wonder how this hardware is any improvement over the BLGW. It looks to me as if it might be a way to make the device more affordable and accessible in the "essential" mode for alexa control of just B&O devices. Yet, by paying a fee, we would get the expanded home automation control over 3rd party systems as we do in BLGW.

I downloaded the new BeoLiving iOS app. It seems t one the same as the BeoLink2 app.

The BeoLiving Intelligence skill for Alexa has been around for awhile and can allegedly work with the BLGW. I say "allegedly" because I could never get it to do anything that I want it to do!

Khimo states that the units are only sold through B&O dealerships. Does anyone know pricing details for Essential and Pro?

My dealer says Essential will be available for 979 euro. Not yet available for order. Pro-upgrade will retail at 659 USD payable to Khimo.

Update:

I'm having SOME limited success with BeoLiving Intelligence and the BLGW. For example, these commands to Alexa work:

"Alexa, turn off the living room TV."

"Alexa, turn off the kitchen TV."

However, Alexa gets confused with the command: "Alexa, change input to Apple TV on kitchen TV." Instead of switching to the matrix 2 input that has been labeled in the BLGW interface tab as "Apple TV," she instead changes to the matrix 1 input that has been labeled as "Cable TV." She completely refuses to understand the command "Alexa, change input to blu-ray on kitchen TV." While I could always dummy-down the label to something like "blue ray," I wouldn't want "blue ray" to show up as the source on my iOS app. Perhaps BeoLiving intelligence needs to add an option for a different command that could be used for Alexa so that we could have a dummied-down phonetic pronunciation that Alexa is able to understand.

The price seems better than the BLGW. Did your dealer indicate if there are any actual improvements over the BLGW or if the BLGW will no longer be supported for updates?

Oops just bought mine in February, that is a fast write off. Not only the gateway but the hours spend by technicians as wel. Will this be an add on, on top of the gateway or a whole new product?

It does not come as a complete surprise as there are no updates anymore on sw.

Confirms what I always say stay away from B&O and anything that has to do with computers and software. Look at beomedia, bs 5, moment etc.Whistle

This all seems a bit strange. No press releases or mention of this. On Khimo's site, there's only one mention of this as being a successor to the BLGW. There are no explanations in the FAQ as to how to migrate from the BLGW to this new product. Khimo refers to NL devices but never mentions ML devices. The screen shots of the web interface for configuring the product look identical to that of the BLGW. The "upgrade" to allow 3rd party integration requires a direct payment to Khimo. The BeoLiving app looks identical to the BeoLink 2 app. However, the BeoLink 2 app says that it's copyrighted by Bang & Olufsen -- yet the BeoLiving app says that it's owned by Khimo. It looks like an odd breakdown in partnership between B&O and Khimo. Don't get me started on all of the typos in the documentation on the Khimo site!

Khimo are the developers behind the BeoLink Gateway and have written the user guides etc for programming it. BeoLiving looks like the next iteration of the BeoLink Gateway however hasn't been formally announced / released by B&O.

Perhaps in the past the arrangement was for B&O to have exclusivity over the product but they have now moved the operations and support for home automation over to Khimo and given them branding rights in the new arrangement?

There's also a new app 'BeoLiving' by the looks of it on the app store under Khimo's developer account; https://itunes.apple.com/US/app/id1417970502#?platform=ipad

It looks much the same as the BeoLink app

An alexa skill has also been produced by Khimo; https://www.amazon.co.uk/BeoLiving-Intelligence-skill-by-Khimo/dp/B079VQB18J

Confusing there's no announcement from B&O

My dealer stated that the Khimo-hub wasn't released by B&O yet. So that's an explanation for lack of announcement from B&O. Maybe they wait for the BLGW stock to be depleted?

By the looks of it it features more or less the same software as the BLGW.

Since the NL/ML-converter has been phased out as well, and the BLGW shares its hardware, they needed new hardware to keep offering their integration line.

The BeoLiving Intelligence is referenced on the Beointegration page in connection with Qmotion shades. Perhaps it is getting closer to being released.

I now notice a document on Khimo's site that explains the differences between BLGW and BLI. It seems that the big difference is that BLI does not support ML. There is no ML socket. If you have ML products, you must use a Beolink Converter. Also, Beo4 and BeoRemote One commands are not supported. You can migrate your BLGW configuration file over to the BLI, but you will orphan any macro commands pertaining to ML devices. A new feature is the ability to create Groups for the purpose of multiroom sound distribution.

I don't see the BLI to be for everyone -- particularly anyone with ML devices. I certainly hope that the BLGW will still be supported with updates and new features alongside the BLI.

Hello Beoliving Intelligence and good bye Beolink Gateway.

It’s half the size and much faster.

In a essential model and a pro version which is like the BL gateway as we know it.

It can also be powered by POe and there is hope to have it working with third party AV systems.

Goodbye master link too.

Hello future update.....

Seriously if you do not own a gateway yet, people will buy it, otherwise I would not even consider before they have updated it. How can it be so difficult to get some camera”s in an app? There are a million other systems that do not have problems with these basic things. I even bought a doorbird, and yes I get a picture, if I am lucky, and yes all is fully wired with cat 7. An Echo Show at 20% cost can even do that.

No zwave suppport, reallly? Let us live the Hue dream. Z wave is more stable and switches are. wired. I have both and Zwave is much better. Lutron also works really nice, but needs a lot of wiring, still working on rs232.

I have only Beovisions on ML the rest is already NL, lets hope the 3rd party AV integration will make sense so I can finaly get some new tv’s. Alexa integration is nice but through macro”s I can already program anything through IFTTT or the Alexa skill app from Khimo.

Do not try to say beosound as Khimo states on there website, it simply does not work, I use phrase kitchen radio etc. Just asked her what is a beosound, she comes back with a movieBig Smile

Sorry for the rant but I am getting more disappointed by the day. I am already looking at 3rd party systems and use the gateway as interface only, no support on multi zone floor heating sollutions as well.

Hello chucky, I'm Ivan of the Khimo team, this is our new BeoWorld forum account where we will be available for support issues, requests, etc.

Just wanted to let you know that the latest update for the BeoLiving Intelligence adds support for all ONVIF protocol cameras, it is now really easy to add them and you can do it directly through the app or on the web setup page. We are also working on improving remote access to cameras, this feature will be available soon.

What specific zwave system do you wish we supported? We take our customers demands into account when defining which systems to develop drivers for!
