New BS1/2018

Dumb question : for someone who will never use google thing, is the new BS1 any better than the "old" one ?

Any other difference appart from ok google ?

Maybe a different connector because it has a charging base like a kettle.

But that’s unconfirmed

I was told that it will get 4 quick access buttons.

These are the 4 dots/rings you see on the top.

When they will be activated, I don’t know.

 

The BS1/new has a charging base, yes.

 

Overall probably newer hardware inside - if (or when) we will notice that, is another question.

I suppose that we will see support for other voice controlled services as well - e.g. Alexa at some point.

My personal wish however, would be support for use with a BeoRemote One/BT - that would be helpfull.

John o’ Manchester mentioned Spotify Connect in his presentation of the BS1.

However, Spotify Connect is not mentioned in the specs on the B&O website (it was for the original version).

So, who is right?

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Email B&O support and ask. AAC wasn’t mentioned on the Beoplay H9 tech specs at launch but I emailed them and they confirmed (and as we all know now) that it was a supported codec and they updated the site
