Does anybody know if there are any plane for the beovision 7 to have all these knew features?
Im talking about new sets to come in the future not upgrading. To me it seems really old now compared to the features of the bv11. Surely they must be going to roll this out through all of the beovisions?
I understand a next-gen Beovision with the product positioning of the current BV7 will be with us in 2013.
You now have the V1 and BV11 driving the entry-level based on the new digital chassis. A new mid-range clearly makes sense.
Hi Martin,
Yes it's very very dated looking isn't it. Here in the UK, the dealers are offers price reductions on them so something is maybe in the pipeline for next year. I'm afraid now that the lean, athletic & muscular brother the BV11 has come along the BV7 really is looking like the fat guy - with a HUGE price tag
Thanks for the replies. Yes I suppose it's only a matter of time before a newer bv7 comes out. Id happily buy a bv11 only somebody (the wife) doesn't like it. Although she does like the bv7.
Paul I live in the uk. What offers have you been offered? I've just been offered the bv10 at a knocked down price but nothing with the bv7? I just couldn't justify buying a bv7-40 when I could get a bv11-46 for the same money.

It's dated in terms of lack of smart TV, but a Mac mini connected is a much better solution anyway. In terms of design that's personal preference. When I was last in a store discussing with the dealer the 7 was still outselling the V1 and BV10 (pre 11 launch). The set is deeper but has the bluray/cd drive, and much better sound
Well, is it not in the dealer’s interest he’d rather sell a BV7 over a V1? Or does the dealer wants to make a customer feel good if he happens to own a BV7? And I know it’s not the best measure, but in the last 2 years I didn’t see that many Beoworlders posting they bought a new BV7. A lot of BV10 related posts, though. To me the BV7 is dated too after 7 years... It’s just too big nowadays. The 7-40 is not even an inch wider than the 11-46!!
So I have a hard time believing the BV7 was outselling the V1 + BV10. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
I agree the smart TV is not that interesting, but there are still many more nice features over a BV7. It just depends if you need those. Just to name a few... DVB-T2/C is standard, automatic software update, PUC table download, DLNA or USB slot with many more supported formats, HbbTV, editable sound modes (very nice feature)
I agree the 11 looks spectacular, both from a design standpoint and a functional standpoint. I was thinking of one to replace my 7-55. My dealer talked me out of it. He said the picture on the 7-55 is far superior to the 11's and the sound with my 9's would be nowhere near as good with the 11's internal speakers as the current sound with my 7-4.

Hi. I actually like the design of the bv7 it's what's inside that now seems dated to me. Hopefully they bring out a new updated version both inside and out but not too different outside maybe just slight simple changes like they have with the bv10-bv11. Big changes inside yet small changes outside. Yet just enough so you Cantrell it's the newer version. Maybe even different speaker options as I still prefer my bv7 with a lab3500 rather than the 7.1.
The smart tv doesn't realy ean that much too me. However the dual freeview receiver - the hard drive - the way you download your puc code there and then online - the sound settings and much more all of sudden make the bv7 look very dated.
I personally think the latest mark v bv7-40 has a superior picture than bv10 or 11 thats why I bought one over the others, and I like the design, its always going to be deeper due to built in bluray, and that only comes into affect if wall mounted as it will stick out a bit more..
I dont see the point in a thin tv if its placed on the floor in a corner,no benefit.Only benefit is if its wall mounted.also the bv10 and 11 is not in the same league sound wise, and the speakers are underpowered with powerful beolabs.

Maybe the customers who buy a sim 2 projector for the media room, a bv-12 65 for the TV room, a 7-55 for the kitchen, and then five bv7-40s for bedrooms don't post on beoworld?
Maybe a lot more of the company turnover is down to clients like this, many of whom probably never even set foot in a showroom, than those of us here who may treat ourselves to a new TV every few years realise.
I think the seriously wealthy don't even post on the net , unless it's to troll people.
Thats my experience anyway....
Agreed. I think it's very unlikely the fact that people here don't regularly buy bv7, has any bearing on how many are sold.
I completely agre with Butch!!
i Have a bv7-40(mk v) with bl 7.2 and bv10-32. My wife and I absolutely adore the bv7, sound and picture wise. classiest tv ever made.
i know it is a stupid reference but why do you think if they picture Bruce Wayne, multimullionaire and Batman with 4 beolab5 and bv7-40 in his penthouse?
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Hey. I agree with you completely.
hat is a stupid reference though. I am going to guess that when they made the film (bearing in mind that could be at least a year before it was released). Bv 10 an 11 didn't exist.
i do agree thought. Bv7 every time for me. Mac mini for a better smart TV experience than 11 can ever offer.

As far as I am aware the 7-55 3D, with it's 512 backlit zones, is still unequalled, let alone surpassed, by any other TV in terms of PQ.
There may well be slimmer, and 'smarter' TVs, but surely optimum PQ is the prime requirement for a large screen TV.
I meant as reference to its extreme classy look and how its fit in the most luxurious environments, which of course has nothing to do it al its other qualities. Of course this is not a sales argument, nobody is that shallow
