Let's hope they get the red-software right!

Seriously though, are we only getting one mainline B&O launch this year? That's a very limited number of products for such a big retail brand. If anything, they are cancelling more products than they are launching.

Heard something about a new fret to BL50. Could be it?

There is a new ultra high-end state-of-the-art digital media server that is matched to the BL90s coming out next month.

According to dealers there is a new soundbar in the pipeline, as launch date they expect spring 2019. They claim to have seen pictures already. From my side I hope they do the soundbar right with HDMI eARC and the possibility to connect other B&O speakers via WISA.

Also there will be a 77 inch Eclipse, but only sometime in 2019 ....  And if they make it too expensive, you have then the option to buy the LG 77 C8 at 5000.- euro (lowest price in Germany today) and you add just the new B&O soundbar ....

No refreshes for the Beolab 17,18,19 neither (they are on the market since 5 years without change)...

Surely it is time that B&O updated the Eclipse so that it featured LG’s a9 processor. Does anyone know when or if this may be happening?

I saw a bronze M5 at my dealer last Friday. Looked very nice. Expect more bronze speakers as special edition.

And off topic, they tried to demonstrate the M5 but where unable to activate it with the app. After multiple attempts I felt sorry for them that I switched topics. Still a lot ground to cover on the digital side. Hope B&O will get it right in the end..

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

Well having waited so long for something decent to come out of the B&O stable, I went and purchased 3rd party. Wanna bet something now comes out of the blue?

Just looked at the B&O site today to check if the Eclipse offer (- 1.500 € for 55") was still on.

Seems that the BV14 is not sold anymore, only Eclipse and Horizon.

And no more Eclipse offer.

I've seen a few dealers who now offer - 1.500 € on another B&O product when buying the Eclipse at the same time.

No more Avant, only two models at the moment.

So what's next, a new model or no model at all ?

Beolab 8 is on the way. An A9 replacement. All I know I’m afraid.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I wonder if the real reason (rumour) why the 14 and Avant is no more is because Samsung would no longer supply to B&O anymore after their relationship with LG?

I don’t see how you could not have 2 component suppliers, so the issue must be more deep than this.

I thought they were planning to run the Avant still in the larger sizes, so i guess not now.

Be interesting if they call this a BeoLab because that signifies it’s a stand alone speaker. Maybe they will call it BeoSound 8 re hashing the old “Madonna” model name. They have re hashed model names / numbers before.

I heard there was in the works a B&O/Pro-Ject turntable collaboration that they are going to call the Beogram 3000.....

I don't know, from what I've seen and heard of over the years, I wouldn't underestimate the kind of corporate trade wars and pettiness possible between LG and Samsung. If it was a case of B&O being a huge customer for Samsung I could see them living with B&O and LG even if they didn't like it, but you know B&O is a niche market for companies as large as the two Korean TV makers. It also may be due to B&O still wanting a certain panel type that Samsung is not willing to continue making for such a small volume retailer, in the cutthroat world of display panels these days they cut margins to the minimum, and keeping assembly likes open for things not many companies want to use cuts into margin.

Somewhat related, when I worked on one system there was only one supplier for a couple of critical but obsolete chips. Fully a quarter of them that allegedly passed high temperature testing failed when we tested them, so we were getting only at most three quarters of what we paid for. We complained, and they basically told us to go stuff ourselves, if we could find anyone else willing to make these obsolete parts for us go right ahead. Naturally when we redesigned parts of the system you can imagine the parts we designed out first, and they got no further business from us.

Wouldn’t be the first BeoGram 3000

Why not call it a Pro-Gram 3000.....

.....or buy one of the many preowned B&O turntables, that are on the market.

The question I ask myself what type of soundbar it will be. For me there are possible varieties.

1. It's a remake of the Beolab 7.x you can control via HDMI ARC <-- this would be pity because you can't connect your home theater speakers with it.

2. It's a Center speaker with a built in 7.1 Audio Processor with wich you can plug in your lab 9's, 20's,... to have a foul Surround setup. Having said that the question is, will it than be a mono, stereo or a 3.0 speaker?

3. This is what i hope mostly for. A Combination of a Beosystem and a soundbar. That would be like the audio part of the eclipse in which, like a normal AV-R would be, you can connect all of your Audio and Video sources which than you can control with a beoremote one, or even maybe a beoremote 2? The tv could be controlled with a puc system or a digital modified Remote control. Imagine how cool that would be. That would solve YEARS of frustration of customers.

Anybody who has any further news about such a product? I'm really hoping this will be a cool one! Cool

I am hoping for something along Robin’s #2 or #3, i.e. without home theatre support (? & Dolby Atmos ?) I don’t see it helping dedicated B&O followers although like BeoPlay it may be a less expensive introducer.

What I fear is the package will be pure B&O advanced tech (e.g. WISA etc) which would drive price up.

Maybe a WISA Systems Module would be a good idea ?

And similarly if it had either Core innards or a Core Systems Module that would make it attractive and extensible.
