Hello, I hope I'm posting this in the right forum... I'm a gamer who's trying to set up two retro gaming spaces in my house and after doing a little research I've found two B&O old school CRT TV sets for this, the BeoCenter 1 and the BeoVision MX4000.

I've already bought the BeoCenter 1, it came with a Beo4 remote and it works a treat, but the MX4000 comes with no remote. I was wondering if I could use the Beo4 remote that is already configured for the BeoCenter 1 for the MX400 as well. Both TVs would be in separate rooms and I wouldn't really need to use them at the same time, but it's not very clear to me that this is something I could do with the Beo4 remote.

The Beo4 remote listing on this website does not include the MX4000 (or any other MX400X) under the "Related Products" links which makes me doubt it would work at all! https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=694 Can anyone advise please?

Hi and Welcome!

Yes the Beo4 will work fine with both TVs.

Thanks Guy! How would it work? Would both TVs answer to the same inputs? Or could I possibly configure them in "separate" buttons/commands?

Each TV will react to the remote with its own input settings.
If your gamebox is set to DVD in a TV and STB in the other, each button will trigger each input when in front of the right TV.

You can set up the SCART inputs in each TV to chose which button on the Beo4 selects them.

On the BC1, go into the connections menu

On the MX4000, go into the 'sockets' menu

Thus if you have just one device connected to each TV, you should be able to select one TV with (eg) SAT and the other with (eg) V.TAPE.  Set unused SCART inputs to 'NONE'.

(On a newer Beo4, SAT=DTV and V.TAPE=V.MEM)

Have a play around and come back to us if you have more questions - enjoy the TVs!

Hello,

I've been searching how to control an MX4002 MCMXCII with Beo4. I had an MX7000 which suddenly goes into standby mode after 5-10 min so I'd like to use the Beo4 remote with the MX4002 instead.

I'm unable however to go into Scart 2 and use the store function ( have an old style remote with SAT and Video Tape buttons). I think I need to change the remote configuration but can't remember how.

I'd appreciate any suggestion.

Kind regards,

Bruno

You should be able to control the MX4002 fine with the Beo4.

You need to go into the MX4002's MENU, then go to SETUP then SOCKETS.  Use the cursor arrows to select what you are connecting to each socket, and press GO to store.

Assuming that you are connecting non-B&O equipment, I suggest that you set AV1 to V.TAPE 1, and AV2 to DVD.  You should then be able to select these inputs on your Beo4 using V.TAPE or DVD respectively.
