Hey folks,

I'm setting up a Masterlink connection to my Beosystem 7000. To this end, I'm using a Beolink Converter I got together with some other kit in an online classified ad.  I connect the audio aux link between the Beomaster 7000, and Masterlink from the Converter to a Beolink Passive.

However, this isn't working. Now, if I've understood things correctly, I will need a Beolink Converter that isn't a type 1614 allow my Beosystem 7000 to function as an audio master. But my Converter was attached in its previous home with double-sided tape that has torn off the label.

Does the forum know if there are any tell-tale signs of either a 1614 or a 1611 if I open and peek inside?

Open it, remove the thin metal cover and look at the Eprom label
