I have a newly aquired Beomaster 5000 setup and am looking for B&O speakers to go with it. I currently am running with a great pair of Sansui speakers but would like a complete B&O setup. Any input on what to look for in B&O speakers? I see lots for sale but want to make sure they work on the 5000 before trying to buy them.

Also ... It looks like the 5000 supports 4 speakers. Any problem with 4 8 ohm speakers on this unit?
No problem at all - all speakers are not an exact resistance anyway. Any passive B&O speaker will do - I would suggest that getting some rated 55W or more would however be prudent. RL60.2s are interesting and S120s are probably the best sounding. The size of your room is clearly going to influence your choice.

I can confirm this. I use MC120.2 with my Beomaster 5500 and they sound good.

I found some RL60.2 on Ebay for $175usd. Looks like I can use 4 speakers with the 5000 so I might look for another set of RL60.2 as well.
I've had a great deal of success running S-45 speakers off of my BS5000 in a link room. Again, it does depend on the size of your room, but I compare the them very favorably to my Vandersteen 2Ci speakers in my main listening room.

2x BeoSystem 3, BeoSystem 5000, BeoSystem 6500, 2x BeoMaster 7000, 2 pair of BeoLab Penta mk2, AV 7000, Beolab 4000, BeoSound 4000, Playmaker, BeoLab 2500, S-45, S-45.2, RL-140, CX-50, C-75, 3x CX-100, 3x MCL2 link rooms, 3x Beolab 2000, M3, P2, Earset, A8 earphones, A3, 2x 4001 relay, H3, H3 ANC, H6, 2014 Audi S5 with B&O sound, and ambio
S45.2s are some of my favourite speakers and can be used in this situation - the power handling however is a little low - they will be have with an average power of 45W and peak power of about 75W. In most situations, this will be fine but the 5000 is rated as 60W a channel RMS and will produce peaks quite a bit higher. Now this will be at full volume, which I am sure none of us use , as it will distort, but should this happen, the power and the distortion could easily wreck the speakers. To be fair, the distortion could damage even more highly rated speakers as well!
Used in a link room is less of a problem as the MCL can be set to allow less power through.

No problem technically - that's how it was designed, or rather to have another pair in a link room - but as long as we are talking pure 2 channel stereo, I don't think having more than one pair of speakers in a single room will make anything better. If you want to have equal volume everywhere in a very large room, it might be beneficial, but it ruins any chance of setting up a "sweet spot" for serious listening. The two speakers echoing the same channel, spaced apart, will just create all kinds of artefacts.
The original question is rather wide - you can run practically any B&O speaker from pre-WWII to current models Later actives with only a Powerlink connection will need some special measures though.

I will be placing the second set in another room and maybe a split system with a third set for outside. I will need to find a good speaker switch system (or build one) I only want 4 speakers active at any one time. I'm looking to buy the RL60.2 speakers for one room.

I use RL60.2 wall mounted on my BS5000 and I like it. I use CX-100 for the "link". Not bad but there are better choices like the S45.2 or other. but for the compact size you cant beat it.
I have also used S80.2 on the 5000 and they work pretty good too if you were wanting to go with a more conventional looking speaker setup.
just bought myself a pair of Red Line RL60.2's. On the way here!!
