Hi everyone,

I have a Beolab 8000 connected to the playmaker and it works fine. I can airplay the music via the playmaker.

Recently, I want to add another source of music from my NAS,  I use the line-in of the playmaker and connected to the non-B&O DAC analogue output.

But there is no sound if I want to play music from the DAC. The Beolab 8000 even didn't turn green.

If I connect Beolab8000 line directly to the DAC, it also works.

So, in short

- Beolab8000 + playmaker -- Ookay

-Beolab8000 + DAC  --- Okay

- Beolab 8000 + Playmaker + DAC -- NOT work

Any suggestions ?

Thank you !

Looking into the Playmaker's manual I found (page 9) that the inputs are prioritized in hierarchy as follows:

1. AIRPLAY

2. DNLA

3. LINE IN

Starting a source with higher priority will interrupt a source lower in hierarchy.
Therefore a source with higher priority must be stopped first to hear a source lower in hierarchy.

So I would try to uncheck and de-select the Playmaker in the Airplay List of your iPhone or iPad first and then start the line-in source again.

Why are you using a Playmaker when you have an outstanding streaming DAC like the Auralic Altair? I replaced my Playmaker with an Auralic Aries Mini and it performs perfectly, far better than the PM ever did.

Jeff

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

@Urike @ Jeff,

Thank you for the input !

The reason I use playmaker as the intermediate is because the prewire. I put all the speakers on main floor and upper floor , while all the amplifiers, streamers, etc are in the data room at basement and I mainly distribute the audio via the cat7 cable (from the wallplate behind the speaker to the dataroom.)  So I can Powerlink-RJ45 from speaker to Playmaker and then normal RCA from auralic - playmaker.

I will try again/check if I de-select airplay and see if there is sound from bl8000.

By the way, I agree with you that Auralic is good in terms of its dac. I have Aries Mini as well.  And I have AG2/VG2/Leo for my bl5. :-)   So I am a kind of fan of Auralic.

Thank you again !
