Hi,

Everything works fine on this machine, except that it doesn’t erase tapes like it should. You stil hear most of the previous recording. Cleaned and demagnitised the heads but that had no effect. Anybody with A possible solution. I also checked the wiring, seems ok. Thanks!

Check the erase head for continuity and the function of the erase oscillator.

Thanks,  but I guess this is beyond my skills....or is there an easy way to check this?

A Ohmmeter (multimeter) across the erase head (out of circuit) and a scope to the oscillator when recording.
Careful, there are high voltages here and there.
A job for a tech guy, really, but shouldn't be too difficult or expensive.
