I have my Beosound Moment connected to a BeoPlay V1 with Beolab 5 connected to the V1.
In at least half of the cases when I start the Beosound Moment, when pressing the round area that is adjacent (in) to the volume ring Pattern Play does not start. The same is true for the round area on the wooden side.
Pattern Play always starts when using the Beoremote one.
When it does not start the Moment displays the Apple TV display name, which is connected to the V1 (and assigned to the TV button).
I have filed a bug report with B&O but no answer so far (the report is from 6 months ago or so).
Anyone else has the same problem?
Any ideas how to solve it?
Thanks. Peter

Hiort:I’m not sure but I think that possibility (one press start) when integrated to a BV disappeared during the rework of the firmware. It was a conscious decision, but I do not recall why.

Thanks Hiort.
Because of your remark I just retested.
One press start / pattern play does consistently work when you use the Moment then Switch it to standby and then start the Moment again.
One press start sometimes works fine when using the TV, switch if off and then use the Moment and sometimes it does not.
I am on the latest software.

But activating PP with the one touch was/is only available on the wooden side, if I remember well.
What you describe sounds more of an activating last source playing to me.....maybe I did not quite understand your descrbtion.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

that was the original yes.
I seem to remember (based on either info on beoworld or a discussion I had as part of the beta program), that the new functionality is PP on both sides by tapping the inner physical circle and tapping on the touch screen would continue what was last played. This as said does work sometimes.
It could have something to do with the quick start of the tv; I am testing that at the Moment.
this is probably what you refer to:

So if the display is on then it continues to play the que and (by inference) this means (imo) it should start pattern play when the screen is off. which it does....only sometimes.

Thanks for that link - I had forgotten that.
By the way - is version 2.2 the current and public version (and final, too).?

Hello, I had the same setup for almost two years. That is moment INTEGRATED with the V1. I also had the same behaviour from the moment when play (the middle part of the ring) was pressed. In my case it worked fine only to start from the source where it was put to standby. So let's say I was watching tv last night and switched it off to go to sleep the next day if play (on the moment) was pressed it would pick up from the last source played, in this case tv. As a result nothing was coming out of the speakers as the tv did not turn on. On moment's screen though I was informed that the moment was playing tv. At this point I have to stress that there were no speakers connected to the moment directly. I was using a pair of 18s connected to the TV.
Recently I acquired a pair of 9s and I moved the moment to another room. 9s are connected directly to the moment and each time I press play it works like a charm. I believe it is just a constrain of the software. When play is pressed moment is finding the last source and starts with that. If it is a stand alone setup then 99% of the times it was put to standby whilst playing music and as a result music is resumed. There is a 1% chance (in a multiroom setup or via audio in) that you were listening to your tv or any other video/non B&O source the last time you put it on standby and as result it resumes the last source.
By the way, if you have the possibility to make the moment a stand alone system it is much better to interact with it. Volume is much easier regulated, the whole experience is much faster and accurate and the bang Olufsen app works much better as it does not let you get confused on which source is available for each device.
Thanks Tassos, this is very helpful. I guess the workaround I could try is to always end my day with a Moment source so I can enjoy pattern play the next day ;-) (or better: follow through with B&O and see if they are kind enough to fix it for me / us).
I did in the past use the Moment with the Beolabs separate from the TV and I agree it made the experience better / snappier; that said I am mostly fine with.....
............. the integrated set up as well. The drawback of using the Moment directly with the Beolab 5's is that the sound quality when watching movies (bass!) is not as good as with the integrated set up..........
FYI for others that have the same issue a workaround that works (at least partly)
I now reset, with an automatic power switch, the Moment each night and this solves it: pattern play then works as it should.
Note that this does not solve everything as when you watch TV in between using the Moment the issue remains; less of an issue for me though).

I have abandoned the integrated set up and indeed: much better
One open item for me is that the remote control does not work with the BS Moment (volume / next song etc).
The user guides are not so helpful, but I am sure someone on the forum can help me to solve this?
(set up: V1 and BS Moment separate)
thx in advance.
